3.0 out of 5 stars Comprehensive/verbose
This is a pretty good text, quite comprehensive and covers the subject with lots of examples but I found it really quite verbose. The material could have been covered in a smaller book.

5.0 out of 5 stars The most comprehensive treatment of linear models, 21 Mar 2011

This review is from: Applied Linear Statistical Models (Paperback)
In my opinion this excellent book gives the definitive and most comprehensive treatment of linear models theory. Yes it's not a slim reference (almost 1400 pages in its 5th edition), but you can find here everything you ever wanted to know on linear models. If you need a quick-introduction this is not the reference you are looking for: otherwise you will get an in-depth treatment of the topics like I rarely experienced in other books for any statistical topic. In particular, regression diagnostics are very well covered. Generalized linear models are also briefly covered.
