I love the different perspective. The names which you hear other authors mention in relation to Queen Victoria are brought to life. They weren't quite as subservient as I previously thought. Very interesting.

The Victorians have fascinated me since I was a child. I've read lots of books about how ordinary people lived but to have this insight into life at the palace and with Queen Victoria herself is brilliant.

A very good read for people interested in Victoria and her household.not heavy reading can be picked up or put down at will and quite a few interesting facts will be learnt on finishing the book.

Brings Victoria to life as an even more complicated person than I had previously thought her to be S

Serving her must have been extremely stressful

Was well received! Cannot comment further on a gift., other than to state the obvious. I was profusely thanked and the book was apparently enjoyed!

1st part of book lacked depth and was uninteresting in some chapters too many names made ita confusing read. having a summary section of these people would have helped to refer too.historical documents included were of poor viewing quality on kindle. at other times very insightful and humouress about the thoughts of those who served victoria and the woman herself.2nd part much more gripping! overall reveals much about the inner workings of the royal court of that time and the impact of life events on them.must say tho this book is about 25% overpriced for a kindle edition
