Me: Was it any good?
My daughter (13): It nicely concludes the first two books. She is reunited with her sister and kills the evil guy.
Me: Who's 'she'?
My daughter: Naya, a shifter. She can shift pain from one person to another. Her power's kind of evil because people she shifts pain to die. Quickly.
Me: So is she a good person or not?
My daughter: She is a good person but she can be a weapon and that's why the bad guy, the duke, wants her.
Me: Is this like anything else you've read?
My daughter: No, it's unique. You can really empathise with the character.
Me: And are there any other books after this one?
My daughter: I don't think so. But I hope so.
