A lifeline for cardiac patients

In May 1997 I had triple bypass surgery at age 38. My wife and I determined to make an overhaul of our menus to lower cholesterol and fat intake and have found Dean Ornish's book of recipes an indispensable addition to our kitchen. The challenge was how to retain flavour and protein while doing away with fat. Like his recipes, Ornish's book fills this gap admirably. Even our non cardiac friends have enjoyed the cooking.
