This book follows the same format as "21 Days to Glory" (which covered the 2012 Tour of France) but is extended to include Team Sky's campaign at the Giro as well as the 2013 Tour de France. For each race there is a series stage by stage description from a personal Team Sky point of view followed by a section of brief factual summaries of the stages. It is fascinating to read what goes on behind the scene as the book doesn't just describe events from the point of view of the team leaders and domestiques, there is plenty of focus on the myriad of support staff and their roles. It is also interesting reading to contrast the 2 races as the Giro did not go according to Sky's plan whereas the Tour very much did. What makes this book really worthwhile though are Scott Mitchell's stunning photographs. He captures the moments by some very imaginative and quirky shots. Some of the photos in the blizzards that plagued the Giro are amazing.

As someone who followed both races on TV this book really worked for me as I relived the excitement and the tensions of each stage. A great buy for anyone interested in cycling or just in good photography.

Enjoyed this book which is both an additional source of information to the live presentations on TV this year and a good memory jogger. Additional entertainment from trying to work out the locations and subjects in the photographs (which the book is lavishly supplied with) since there are no captions. A good basic read about Sky Pro Cycling's achievements in these two very challenging and iconic road cycling races in 2013.
