5.0 out of 5 stars Great little book of short walks
This book is great. The walks are all in the 3-8 mile bracket, there's nothing too strenuous and all the walks we've tried so far have been a treat. The use of OS mapping is nice, and the directions are clear and simple - I've lost count of the number of times we have got lost using walk books with badly drawn sketch maps. 3.0 out of 5 stars It's ok but...
I didn't pay enough attention to where the walks were (not sure if the contents would have told me) and ended up not staying near any of the walks :-(

We have lived around this area for almost 20 years and have already found some gorgeous new walks using this book. Highly recommended (and I'd say the same for the Cornwall and Northumberland versions).

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent selection of walks, 2 Aug 2013

Good selection of walks, distances and terrains. The instructions were spot on and the walks were off the beaten track and very quiet. Each walk contains a brief description of the terrain which warns of mud, steep climbs etc which is very helpful when walking with an 82 year old mother with a hip replacement! The book is small enough to carry but contains lots of information about local sights. Walks range between 2 and 5 miles.Have bought similar guides to the Peak District, Lake District and The Yorkshire Dales. Would recommend.
