It was ok,

I saw excerpts of this in a magazine and the tears were tripping me but when I got the book I kinda discovered that those were the funnies ones in the book, it was ok but not as good as I thought it would be.

Less a review of the book than a review of the advertising above...,

This review is from: Your Mother Doesn't Work Here: Painfully polite and hilariously hostile notes (Hardcover)
The book is pretty much as other reviewers have summed it up: extremely funny in places, less so in others and certainly worth a read if you want a quick giggle. However, anyone looking at the 'buy all three...' suggestion above should probably be aware that one of the suggested books in that trio: "Passive Aggressive Notes: Painfully Polite and Hilariously Hostile Writings." is not, as this tacitly implies, another similar book - it's the same book, just with its American title and cover. It may be worth buying but probably not twice!

Being a fan of the PAN blog this great little book offers more of the same amusing (and sometimes slightly terrifying) notes; it's a fun coffee table book and has had many of my friends in stitches.

For those who have shared accommodation at some point in your life then you know there has been a time when you wanted to do this but hadn't the balls so check out the jottings of those who did! Doesn't take long to get through and is hilarious in parts. Some are jottings of the intolerant OCD's and others are from those who have put up with a mother load of selfishness before exploding over the frigde white board or post-it pad armed with a Sharpie!

Student battles and workplace snipes,

Have you ever vented your pent-up irritation through the time-honoured medium of The Note? Perhaps you've been on the receiving end of one yourself? Yeah, well, so have these guys. With the book's banner reading 'Warning: Contains sugarcoated anger' it basically does what it says on the tin. This is a glossy collection of notes, alternately begging and angry, threatening and sugary, but all out to make a point. There are some from the workplace, some from student flats, and some from shared apartment buildings. Some are hilariously clever, some are downright venomous.Aside from the brilliant ketchup note and possessive sandwich fiend on the cover, here are a few of my favourites: > "This party would be way better if this music DIDN'T F**KING SUCK. xox" > "Is there some Great-God of unwashed plates? Whom we must appease by building statues in his honour every day? Just a thought." > (on vending machine) "This machine is like a box of chocolates! You never know what you'll get! (For Diet Pepsi, push Mountain Dew. For Brisk Tea push Mountain Dew.) Still haven't found the Mountain Dew." > "STOP eating my soup! I know who you are. I'm watching you. I mixed a little Oxy Powder in my soup today. Care to find out what that is?? Try a bite..." I think Dylan Moran summed it up pretty well in his Dylan Moran - Monster Live [DVD] stand-up show , talking about a particularly anal note-leaver in his student digs: "I used to leave a few notes for Tina myself. 'Dear Tina, eeeeeeverybody hates you.'" This would make a great novelty gift or toilet book - read it and cringe, people, read it and cringe!

Book fine help not,
This review is from: Your Mother Doesn't Work Here: Painfully polite and hilariously hostile notes (Hardcover)
As said in the title the book arrived perfectly but it took forever to come and there was no help from anyone to let me know where it was

Funny book. Bought as a gift. Reminds you how we all wind each other up and how funny pettiness can be!

Overhyped,
This review is from: Your Mother Doesn't Work Here: Painfully polite and hilariously hostile notes (Hardcover)
I was really disappointed after reading (most of) this book, I had really high expectations, but the book was full of collegestyle notes, which gets a little repetitive in the end.

This book made me laugh out loud, I could not put it down. I had been looking for this book for ages and was very grateful to find it on Amazon. Only fault is its a bit too american at times

Brilliant little book,
This review is from: Your Mother Doesn't Work Here: Painfully polite and hilariously hostile notes (Hardcover)
This book had me laughing from cover to cover. The author explains where the idea for the book comes from and most of the post it notes featured have little stories attached. Brilliant for people who, like myself, enjoy being passive aggressive and live/have lived with some real butt holes.
