The book is a great read and full of very practical advice. If I did what it suggested in a disciplined way there is no doubt that success would follow. That is the difference between them and so many of us. Perseverance, dedication, focus and discipline. If you do not have these then the book will remain unread, the great business idea - just that an idea and us just wishing that we had what they have.

If you don't have the discipline - can you get it? I have always had some but lacked focus. I am now getting the focus through participating in an Avatar course which is helping me sort out the misaligning beliefs that have prevented me from getting to a stage where I can implement the ideas in this book.

Get the discipline - read the book first if you need to know the goal - then act on the advice in here. See you at the top!

It's a book about a tv show and it mostly tells you what happened in the tv show. If you're expecting more, you'll be disappointed. If you love dragons den and want to get a book about it, this is the best book to get.

I am a huge fan of Dragons Den, I love seeing all the new ideas that people have and cringing when they say how much money they have invested in the 'next big thing' - especially when Duncan greets them with, 'that's the most ludicrous thing I have ever seen'.

I did enjoy reading this book, especially the biographies and overviews of the different dragons at the start of each chapter and finding out how they got to be where they are today. Each dragon clearly has their own approach to business and they talk candidly about what they did right and more importantly the mistakes they made along the way and what they learned from them.

There are a number of case studies in the book which are taken from the show. Each one is interesting to read but to be honest it is better if you have seen them on the show as you can visualise the presentation that was given and the people behind the product or service.

There is an excellent chapter written by Evan Davies which focuses on business principles and economics, I would say that it provides the most useful advice in the whole book.

This book provides advice and help to would be entrepreneurs, much of it could be of use to anyone who does not have a business background. If you like the show then you will probably enjoy this book.

NOTE: the book was written when James Caan was a Dragon. He has now been replaced by Hillary Dervey.

This is intresting however large font and information repeated mean that you don't get a massive amount of information from this book. However the advice and background on the Dragon's is intresting. Ewan's econimics section is very good and if you like the TV program then you should like this book.

After reading the new Dragons Den book, I thought that like the programme it was extremely enjoyable. After watching the series, I was really interested in finding out more about the entrepreneurs and what happened next and the book helped me do exactly that.

I was also pleasantly surprised to find a whole chapter dedicated to the company I work for, Applied Language Solutions and its founder, Gavin Wheeldon. The Dragons chose not to invest in Gavin's translation company but yet we have proved to be one of the most successful companies to appear before the dragons so far, "The one that got away." I thought it was commendable of the dragons to include both their successes and the investment opportunities they missed. It made the book a more interesting and believable read.

I would definitely recommend this book. If you are a fan of the programme or looking for tips on how to be the next Duncan Bannatyne this is the book for you.

Not living in the UK, I actually hadn't seen the programme and the book was a christmas gift. It's an easy read telling some good stories - and let's face it, who doesn't like a good story? I found the dragons' backgrounds very interesting and some of their values very close to mine. Lots of ideas in there for the budding entrepreneur. Would I actually go on the show with my own ideas - I'm not so sure. Would I contact certain dragons with a solid business proposition - I hope so.

I agree with StoryTeller that you also have to have some degree of focus to absorb this and make it work for its money. I enjoy the TV series and the book takes you one step further. It's a big book but large fonts just adds pages and size to it, but because of that it is easy to read without glasses because of this. Anything to do with Dargons Den is good for me as I really subscribe to what the show is about. Anyone not really into this TV series and wanting to go further in business would be best to go for one of the books written by one of the dragons on the show.

An interesting book, I am a big fan of the show, so was an obvious purchase for me!! It's good to discover how the dragon's made their millions. Good practical advice to help you consider how to develop and sell your idea. A good read!
