4.0 out of 5 stars I Think I Might Have Heard This One Before , 14 Mar 2007

When I first heard this single played on the radio on a sunny spring like morning, I couldn't help but be charmed by it. Who would have thought it, that an old Smiths classic would lend itself so well to Urban Soul (a genre, I confess I know very little about), but it works surprisingly well. I guess it's because this has a deeper more emotional soul groove with lush string arrangements, similar in style to record producers: Danger Mouse and David Arnold. Wonderful stuff!

2.0 out of 5 stars Get that feeling you've heard it before??, 10 April 2007
By D. Lee "DLee" (Poole) - See all my reviews

This song is completely unoriginal, I think this 'Mark Ronson' bloke has been listening to 'Rob D's' 'Clubbed to Death' a bit too much (which is a legendary song), and when you take (especially unofficially) a melody from such a classic song you should atleast put your own touch to it.

Another thing I noticed is how similiar the vocal mixing and general mastering of the track is almost identical to that of the stupidly over sold 'Crazy' by 'Gnarles Barkeley'.

So if you get that feeling you have heard it before, now you know why!

1.0 out of 5 stars utter crap, 6 Jul 2007
By Philip Atchison (n.ireland) - See all my reviews

having listened to this single once too often on the radio it absolutely baffles me how on earth this can be considered good.i mean its complete murder of a classic smiths song.it makes a good meaningful song into just another piece of pointless crap.to me its just an easy way to make money in an era when music is so throwaway.i'm not against cover versions and different peoples interpretations of a song but this song sucks!!!
