Global takes the format of an extended Paul Van Dyk music video: the 13 tracks are seamlessly mixed together with the visuals taken from worldwide tours spliced with official videos to some of the singles. Musically, it plays like a greatest hits of remixed tracks from the first album all the way up to "Out There and Back" and the new mixes bring older tracks more up to date. My own highlight is the last track "My World" which looks back over all the other tour diary highlights and fades in sections of the "Forbidden Fruit" video, bringing in more personal images and leaving the DVD finishing on a touching high note.

Extras are good, but nothing special: the official videos to three of the singles and some overly gushing fan interviews. Would have been nice to get more background information about the music and the tour experience, but nevertheless the DVD is highly recommended for all Paul van Dyk fans, even if you've already got the original albums :)

I also got this DVD as a Christmas present and i have to say it was one of my better pressies!
Ok so the music isn't live but the selected tracks are all immense! The movie shows PVD on his travels around the world, such as San Francisco, Tokyo and Ibiza, performing in various clubs. As well as enjoying the music you can sit back and get lost in the amazing life of PVD! You gain some insight into what his work involves and how people all over the world appreciate his music!

The movie is full of interesting things to keep you entertained - the amazing sights of the places he has been, the amazing clubs, and of course all the drunken clubbers complete with glow sticks and various weird costumes!!

It also includes some of the PVD music videos which are worth checking out and an interview with the man himself!

This DVD sums up 10 years of work by PVD and from this DVD you can begin to appreciate the rewards of this effort for PVD and clubbers worldwide! His presence ,as the DVD states, is truly Global! A must for any true PVD fan!

The best thing I can say about this DVD is that at least I didn't pay for it. I was given it as a Christmas present and it is little more than junk. Its exclusively PVD tracks on it, set to videos of some of his gigs from around the world...Not what I had hoped for at all. None of the music is live at all, just dubbed over the video footage. The highlights are the funny dementia-faces in one or two of the crowd-shots, and of course We Are Alive. To be honest though, that was the only track I recognised.
To me, this was just a big self-promotion effort by PVD (there are several talk-heads of people out of their faces saying how great he is) and it left me wholly disappointed.
There is no comparison whatsoever between this and the Tiesto in Concert DVD - its worth ordering that, waiting and saving your money in the mean time. This on the other hand is worth none of the above.
