DVD Description

2 Fast 2 Furious features a red-hot cast including Paul Walker (The Fast and the Furious), Eva Mendes (Training Day), R&B sensation Tyrese, supermodel Devon Aoki and multi-platinum hip-hop recording artist Ludacris. Brought to the screen by John Singleton (Boyz N The Hood, Shaft) and produced by Neal Moritz (The Fast and The Furious, xXx), 2 Fast 2 Furious has already been a massive box office success, taking close to £8m in the UK. This high-revving sequel to The Fast And The Furious sees the return to the screen of disgraced cop Brian O’Connor (Paul Walker). Following his forced relocation to Miami he is rocketing the streets once more with his trademark super charged car chases.

Murderous businessman Carter Verone (Cole Hauser) is under investigation by the Miami authorities for using his import/export business as cover for an international money-laundering cartel. However, with no evidence but Verone’s links to street racing, the cops need help. With a promise to restore his police badge if he is successful, O’Connor is brought on board to disgrace Verone and bring about his downfall. Teaming up with his childhood friend and ex-con, Roman (Tyrese), the pair come across stunning undercover agent Monica Fuentes (Eva Mendes) who quickly becomes the key to the drug baron’s world. Unparalleled racing sequences, a sexy cast, 400 dazzling, high-performance vehicles, a slick Miami backdrop and a hip soundtrack featuring hits from Ludacris, 2 Fast 2 Furious promises the ride of your life.

4.0 out of 5 stars More of the same, 8 Oct 2003

(TOP 500 REVIEWER)    (REAL NAME)
For those who liked the original Fast and the Furious, or even other similar types like 'Gone in 60 seconds', then this sequel is definitely for you.

Paul Walker returns from the first movie, and this time teams with his new partner Tyrese, who replace Vin Diesel. This time round, Paul Walker is an ex-cop who is forced into catching Miami's drug lord by the DEA, and Walker recruits his ex-convict's (Tyrese) help, with the gorgeous Eva Mendes as the undercover agent helping them. So the story is set...but this movie is not really about the story alone...cue the fast cars, amazing stunts, and stunning women dressed in very little. It's a simple formula which has worked before, and it works again here. But the difference in 2 Fast 2 Furious, is the natural on-screen camaraderie shared by Walker and Tyrese-they are both comic and complement each other scarily well.

As for the DVD, there are some nice added features including the music video by Ludacris, commentary by the Director John Singleton, and some featurettes which help to bridge the gaps in the story from the first movie to the second. All in all, a great package!

5.0 out of 5 stars Super charged, 20 Sep 2003
By A Customer
2 Fast 2 Furious delivers more fast paced action than the first. The action never stops, the humour is great and most importantly the cars are awesome. This is good if you want to buy the edited version of The Fast And The Furious with the new film. Don't be fooled, this @ amazon is probably the best buy even with P&P as they are more trustworthy than other online dvd companies.

3.0 out of 5 stars 2 Fast 2 Furious, 25 Jun 2006
By Dave Kraven (Burbage, UK) - See all my reviews

With the shameful absence of Vin Diesel, 2 Fast 2 Furious centers around Paul Walker's character as he's forced to go undercover in order to infiltrate the empire of Miami drugs baron Cole Hauser. Although he's quite comfortable in his leading role, he's sadly letdown by the support of Tyrese Gibson (no substitute for Vin) as his illegal street racing best pal and Eva Mendes who plays Hauser's mistress but Cole Hauser, in the other hand, is tremendously devilish as the evil drugs baron. Director John Singleton supports the cast with an interesting enough script and gorgeous locales but the true stars of the show are the fast, colourful cars, terrific action set-pieces and flashy visuals in this bombastic sequel to the box-office hit original.
