Synopsis

In this direct-to-video second sequel to "Honey, I Shrunk the Kids," scientist Wayne Szalinsky accidentally shrinks himself, his wife, his brother and his sister-in-law. His brother's kids, thinking their parents have gone on a weekend vacation, act just like kids left at home alone, while the grown-ups ride Hot-Wheels and try to avoid being squished.

3.0 out of 5 stars Shockingly Average, 23 Mar 2009

I loved the original, the second was silly and has aged very badly however the third is cheap and cheerful.

Rick returns but his wife does not and is replaced by someone who doesn't quite look like her and baby Adam looks completely different. The effects are quite poor in places but the sets are well done and it just depends on what they are doing as to how good it all looks. Some of the stunts are great ideas but the film would have been lifted by a larger budget and much, MUCH less action of the children's party going on around them which is just plain awful. Thankfully the adventure of the adults is better.

A very generous 3 stars (probably feeling nostalgic over the original)
