5.0 out of 5 stars Sweet, 17 Aug 2003
By Loxxibana "loxxibana" (Middle of nowhere) - See all my reviews
Despite a different cast, and the obvious constraints of TV series-making, this manages to be one of the most succesful transitions from big to small screen. If you never caught this on the box first time around (like me), don't think because this was produced for British television that it is soft - the language is every bit as harsh as the movie, the violence still graphic and the plot twists are every bit as fun. The supporting cast, as noted before, is uniformly excellent - especially (my favourite) Christopher Adamson as Three Feet, a hard man's hard man. Though I feel the 'rentacockneybarraboy' theme was starting to wear a bit thin by the end of the series, it manages to quit while its ahead before you find yourself asking searching questions (like, are those 4 guys joined at the hip, or what? Who the hell runs their pub while they're all out doing dodgy deals, and where do they get all their money from as the place hardly seems to be open?) Anyway, 7 hours of non-stop class...it's a deal, it's a steal....you know the rest ;)

4.0 out of 5 stars From big screen to small screen, 7 Sep 2005
The tales from Guy Ritchies take on Londons mean streets continue in this tv adaptation of the hugely popular movies Lock, Stock & 2 Smoking Barrels and Snatch. Stealing horses, robbing russians, ripping of a psychotic arab called the caliph, annexing tv stations, selling dodgy viagra and generally making a nuisance of themselves the boys from the Lock go from entrepeneurs to prisoners and back again through the series narowly avoiding being either killed, buggered or brutalised in a variety of different ways.

A very entertaining series of far fetched tales that can withstand repeat viewings. Excellent.

5.0 out of 5 stars BUY IT! 6.5 hours of brilliance!!!!!, 25 Aug 2002
By A Customer
Now this is one hell of a dvd, the complete 7 episodes of the 'lock, stock..tv series' spread over 6 1/2 hours and 2 discs. Which in case you've never seen it is the adventures of four likely lads (moon, jamie, lee and bacon) who own a pub called 'the lock'as they come into dealings with a whole host londons criminal underworld, and usually fall fowl of them. The first episode is a feature length movie co written by guy richie, the other 6 which average about 50 mins each are all like mini-movies and are equally as good. The acting on this dvd is superb especially Ralph Brown in his portrayal of the meancing Gangster 'Miami Vice'. With each episode brings some new characters. It also features a 12 minute behind the scenes film with tania strecker and the video to the theme tune by ocean colour scene. This is a fantastic purchase u wont regret.
