Amazon.co.uk Review
This attempt to reunite the stars of White Men Can't Jump will most likely be remembered as the movie that allegedly inspired a number of copycat arsons in the New York subway system. In other words, the movie itself is too perfunctory to be remembered for any other reason. Woody Harrelson and Wesley Snipes share their established chemistry as a pair of stepbrothers who work the subway detail as undercover detectives in the NYPD. Woody's a compulsive gambler with a huge debt problem to contend with, and he's also competing with his brother for the attentions of their new and beautiful partner (Jennifer Lopez), who's been assigned to join their investigation of the subway crimes. They're also supposed to guard the daily money train (so named because it contains each day's worth of subway fares), but Woody gets the bright idea that it might be the solution to his money woes. What follows is standard-issue action fare for the mid-1990s--lots of violence, excessive profanity, and attempts at witty banter between the co-stars to make it all seem more entertaining than it really is. You'd need to be a serious Harrelson, Snipes, or Lopez fan to add this movie to your collection. For anyone else, one viewing ought to be enough. --Jeff Shannon

4.0 out of 5 stars wesley and woody r back, 10 Dec 2000
After the master piece that was white men cant jump i was left with a faint hope that these two stars would reunite to work together again. Here it is, and it dont disappoint the story bears a little thin but has a strong point that family does not have to be blood relations and ur left asking if u had the opportunity would u try it and get away. Not by any means the best snipes film but worthy of attention!

3.0 out of 5 stars Utterly ridiculous yet strangely riveting, 1 May 2007
By Jay "The Amazon Reviewer" (Mauritius) - See all my reviews
(TOP 500 REVIEWER)
Wesley and Woody play two brothers (!) who work as transit cops. Woody's a gambling junkie with a huge debt on his back while Wesley plays the straight man who's getting a little tired of constantly having to bail his brother out. Desperate, Woody plans to hijack the Money Train that rides along to each station, collecting the night's collections. Folks, believe me when I tell you that it actually gets more ridiculous. Add to the mix a pyromaniac token booth bandit, Jennifer Lopez, Robert Blake in a performance so hammy that you can almost smell the bacon coming from your tv, action sequences that are unabashedly ridiculous and you have yourself... Money Train. My favorite moment comes when Robert Blake, after having been informed of the possibility of civilian casualties if the hijacked Money Train continues to speed ahead on the local line, responds with the now-classic line, "That's what we live with." I was laughing so hard that tears were squirting out of my eyes. This movie is utterly ridiculous yet strangely riveting. Wesley Snipes plays his usual cocky, confident self and it seems to me that he won't accept a role these days unless he gets to kick someone in the face. Woody Harrelson looks like he smoked one too many blunts in this one. I actually prefer his character here over Wesley's and that's not saying much. Jennifer Lopez looks damn good but I can't help but think how stupid she is in real life. I really don't know where else to go with this review other than to recommend watching it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good Humour and Action Flim, 27 Aug 2005
Money Train is a good action film with Snipes and Harrelson adding the humour! In some ways it' s slightly typical, Two adoptive brothers, working as undercover police officers are joined by a new gorgeous girl on the team (Jennifer Lopez) and end up fighting over her and as always one catches the other in bed with her, although all this is going on they stil manage to plot to rob the money train, although this may sound like you've seen it before, it's a plot line that can never fail to please. Very enjoyable watching, with a great soundtrack to go with it!
