More feedback. I have just acquired a Huawei E586 Wireless Modem (their description) and it seems to work perfectly with my CloudNine Tablet. I don't know if this is a successor to the E585 mentioned by Kernow Kaz, or if it is something completely different, so I can't help with his/her query. I have a 18 month contract with 3 giving 1GB data for £10.87 a month. Hope this helps.
HI I have a EC122 HUAWEI unlocked and a prepaid 3 sim card and have checked it works on windows. Have connected it to the tablet and attempted to connect via mobile broadband but no joy Any one got any ideas as to what I am not doing
I can confirm that the Huawei E220 works fine, it plugs straight in and connects without issue. I couldn't see any obvious way to configure it so chose "auto registration" which worked fine - at least on Orange UK.
Has anyone used Giffgaff (part of O2 group) for 'month at a time' data-only 'gigabags' (£5 min - for 500M)? Would consider if someone could recommend best value proven dongle which plugs in directly (mini-usb - or is an adapter needed?) and takes a Giffgaff SIM (is standard size or micro-SIM needed?).
