I bought this to use with a 2.5" external notebook drive.
For that purpose, it works OK. Even though the cable is quite long, it has no problems supplying enough power for the hard disk.
The downside is that I have had some problems with other uses.
The plastic moulding around the micro-usb connector is too large. This means that if you have a mobile phone where the usb connector is even slightly recessed, this cable will not work. You can tell if this cable is OK for you by looking at the device with which you want to use it. If the micro usb port on that device is flush with the case then you should be OK but if it is at all recessed then you should avoid this cable.

The cable supplied with the HTC Desire is quite short, and is part of the AC charger, which I like to leave plugged in, so I don't have to fiddle around underneath my bed every time I want to transfer files between my computer and my phone.
Also because the one supplied with the HTC Desire is quite short, it only just stretches to my bedside table, so a longer cable would be better.
For these reasons I bought this product which has the length I need for the AC adapter, and leaves me with the HTC stock USB cable to transfer files.
Brilliant cable, seems nice and rugged too without limiting flexibility.

Bought four of these cables for our Nexus One and HTC Desire phones.
They all worked and they were cheap as chips. Order delivered quickly.

Poor Quality
Poor qualiity it only worked once and wouldn't connect again, I had to borrow a cable to finish the work I started.
