The cost of renting a sat nav on our current trip to Florida was £6 per day - so this SD card inserted in our current Garmin seemed better value. Worked perfectly and invaluable for those of us unfamiliar with US roads. Recommend.

I was very dubious about ordering the Garmin microSD City Navigator North America as I wasn't sure if it was the latest version or not but, having ordered it I can only say how great it was. The card fitted into a slot on the side of my sat nav. and as long as you remembered to change the country to Canada it worked straight away.

One problem I did have however, that wasn't necessarily anything to do with the card, and that was when pumping the zip code/post code into the machine it didn't immediately recognise it. I ended up having to type the address manually and even then I only succeeded when I selected the Municipal district of Vancouver as compared to the City (I was staying on the North Shore which is an hour from the Airport). After that, there was no problem, but it could be worth checking which district you're in before going so that you are prepared if you encounter a similar problem.

Other than that it too us around Vancouver and other areas without any problem whatsoever and I would certainly recommend it.

Update. Just returned from 1600 mile road trip through CA, CO, AZ and UT, with many towns and the cities of San Francisco and Las Vegas navigated. No misbehaviour experienced so good product, works well and recommend product and supplier.
On delivery:
Garmin Logo on SDHC adapter looks amateurish and an original Garmin version bought as a gift 2 years ago carried only a Sandisk Logo. Trial of simulated route in San Francisco, with this product installed, repeatedly froze at intermediate junctions/crossings. Garmin original does not do the same. Suspect that price (half of typical discounted price), appearance and functional problems may indicate that this product is counterfeit. Reserving judgement until used in USA. Hence initial 2 stars.

I bought this item for a trip to Florida and I am surprised as to how detailed the mapping is.It is really easy to use and works the same way as my existing UK mapping which came with my Garmin Nuvi . The setup is easy & straightforward, just plug in the card, turn it on and shange the country on the where to ie change to united states , canada etc. If the existing mapping is stored on the hard drive, that is also available for you to use. Great for getting to the airport in the UK and then using straight away to get to your accommodation in the US.

Bought this with a new Gaarmin Satnav when we were going to USA and Canada for a touring holiday. Although not strictly necessary on the major roads, it was an ABSOLUTE BOON in the towns and major cities. I think I would still be driving round Seattle looking for the car hire company to return the car if I had not had this little gizmo in the car.

Very quick delivery and no issues whatsoever installing. Just remember to choose your country before doing the normal routine.

Very happy - just need to go back for another holiday!!

THis worked really well. Made sure it was compatible with my Garmin Nuvi before I went to the US. When I set it up in the hire car at LAX, switched it on, showed where I was and used it in the normal way to find my destination. Cheaper than renting a Sat Nav from the hire car company, and I can use it next time too for "free". Highly rcommended. Only downside is won't get updates unless I buy again but the roads do not change that much.....

l ordered this as I was due to visit USA. I had initial problem with delivery of the product and supplier acknowledged the problems and refunded the postage. Micro SD slotted in easily and was essential for navigating in USA. You still have to be cautious and use your common sense as it asked me to turn back after reaching the address where I needed to be!
overall it was good value for money, rather than hiring GPS.
