saw the film today can't help but think it has borrowed a lot from nolan's works - anyone else find that? - i am a huge nolan fan, but can't make my mind up whether it had that genius, my initial thought was yes and that pleased me but is it just effectively a rip-off or does it have its own individual message.

I would say it's closer to Groundhog Day (or 12:01, a little-seen comedy-thriller directed by Jack Sholder) than to Inception. And I consider this a good thing, because I found Inception to be a crushing disappointment, after all the hype and Christopher Nolan's excellent track record.
