Product Description

Product Description

The 3.8L Food Processor is like having a professional assistant in your kitchen. With a revolutionary push-button lid locking system this food processor is best in class. As well as mixing, blending, chopping, and kneading, it also grates and slices. The versatile slicing disc can be adjusted from thick to fine and the large and small chopping blades lock in place inside the work bowl to keep things safe when you're pouring. All of the blades store nicely in the lockable storage box provided with the processor. The clever seal tight technology creates a leak proof seal between each of the 3 interlocking bowls allowing you to create complete recipes with no cleaning in-between processes. And thanks to the professional grade motor and die-cast metal casing this processor is built to last.

Manufacturer's Description

The Cuisinart Food Processor is like having a professional assistant in your kitchen. As well as mixing, kneading and blending, it also chops and shreds, helping you to create your favourite recipes with ease.

With 3 interchangeable bowls in 3 different sizes, you can select the best size bowl for the task in hand. Alternatively, you can use all 3 bowls together to create more complex recipes without needing to wash up in between tasks as the unique SealTight technology creates a leak proof seal between each of the bowls keeping liquids and ingredients locked inside.

The versatile slicing disc can be adjusted from 1mm-6mm, performing the same job as 6 seperate blades and the reversible shredding disc is ideal for fine or coarse grating. The large and small chopping blades lock into the base of the bowl to keep things nice and safe when you are pouring. The snap on lid has an extra wide feed tube to reduce preparation time and the small feed tube has a drizzle hole which provides a slow steady stream of liquid into the mixture being processed. There is also a dough blade specially designed for kneading.

The Cuisinart Food Processor is designed to give truly professional results. The die cast aluminium base is robust and durable, while the high grade Japanese stainless steel blades and discs chop and shred in no time at all. The commercial grade, high power induction motor works hard to make tasks quick and easy, and automatically adjusts power to maintain the optimum processing speed at all times.

This is a great piece of kit. It has three bowls - the smaller two nest within the larger one, but using them does not result in the larger one getting dirty. The blades and attachments come in a nifty box for compact and easy storage. It looks great (brushed chrome) and is heavy and sturdy (so it is much easier to store it on the kitchen counter). But most of all, it works like a dream. Chopping onions and apples to make a batch of chutney took seconds. Grating a block of cheddar happened in the bat of an eye. It truly is a kitchen aid.

I got this as an Amazon Warehouse purchase Dec 2010. It has worked very well since then, no issues for us. It is heavy and seems like it will last, it lives on the counter so the weight is good. The 3 bowls are all intact and are usually cleaned in the dishwasher. (The 2 smaller bowls do not seem as solid as the large bowl, and none seem as solid as the Magimix bowl material). The 3 bowls work well, liquid does not spill between them and you can blend soups because of the rubber gasket seal. (The downside is the gasket is a little harder to rinse clean, but not disastrously so). We do pizza and pasta dough no problem. We have a Kenwood KMix for other heavier dutier beating or whipping (the Cuisinart has no attachment to whisk, like my old Braun, unfortunately). The variable width slicer and shredders are fine but don't get used too much apart from onion soups, layered potatoe dishes and huge bowls of coleslaw for BBQs. The storage container for the blades etc is useful and of similarly high quality.

I read reviews a lot before buying and it was between this and Magimix, really, although I did consider the Dualit at one point. Found this at a good price through Amazon, which decided it, and me and the other have been delighted with it ever since.

I've only had this item a few days but I am so pleased with it. Very unusually for me I spent ages researching & weighing up all the options of food processors in this price bracket as my last one (a kenwood costing about £90) was utterly useless so I really didn't want to waste more money on a dud product. The Cuisinart doesn't make it into the Which? best buy category unlike the Magimix however a friend of mine has the Magimix & says that when using the smaller bowls she has to wash all 3 because food leaks through & this made my decision to buy this model instead as it has the rubber seal to prevent leaks & having tested this function I can confirm that it works.

It's very heavy, so don't even think of buying it if you're wanting to store it away in the cupboard as it'll be such a chore you'll never get it out. I've found it easy to assemble & take apart, the bowls all slot into place well & the lid clicks down & has a button to release. Everything about it feels very solid & well made, it comes with an accessories case to store the attachments that you're not using.

So far I've used it for chopping, grating & slicing & have been pleased with the results. One of the reasons it didn't make it into the Which? best buy category is because there was some cheese left on the grater that didn't shred, which also happened when I used it, but that's not a big concern of mine, it got through the cheese in super quick time which is the main thing. Which? also wrote it up as not being able to whip & not that I've tried to do that yet but I have seen a video from Cuisinart where it is being used to whip cream so I think the Which? review must be inaccurate on that point.

Cuisinart do loads of instructional videos for the US market.

I am a big fan of Cuisinart. You can read my last review on the older cuisinart( click read other reviews beside my name) that I bought and used since 2009 from this seller. I got this model from the company when the last one's motor died and it was in guarantee period. I had the 14 cup limited edition MP14 which was single 14 cup bowl. I liked the concept of this but to be honest its too complicated. It much more sturdy and smart. I am struggling to use this as the processed food like cheese powder or bits of stuff spills out from the back where the lid snaps in place. As you cant use smaller bowls unless they sit inside bigger bowl, you end up having to wash both or all three due to the spill. The other snag iswhn you place the chopping or grating disc on the stem and place it on the base, there is a big gap between the stem and the tube of the bowl, so your grated stuff falls in. More cleaning. again this was not a problem with the MP14.

So now, I have just put away the 2 smaller bowls and am using just one big bowl and cleaning lots which just makes me use the processor less. The whole idea of a food processor is to save time, I think.

So far I have'nt seen these issues in other customer reviews so I wonder if I have a faulty one especially as it was replaced? And yes, I have checked that the lid is closed properly many many times. This newer and more expensive version does not have the whisk attachment either which means I have to now get a hand mixer to do cake mixes. I will swap this one any day for my MP14.
