We are cancelling our sky subscription at the end of April and changing to Freesat as we can no longer afford Sky.
We have a sky plus hd box we are going to replace with the Humax foxsat HDR 500gb freesat HD box and I am wondering if our second, basic non recording sky box we have in another room will work with it or do we need to get another freesat basic box?
Any recommendations on a second box, if needed, would be greatly appreciated as we are not very savvy on these machines.
Just leave the second box as is. Once any subscription has ended/lapsed, it defaults to being a Sky Freesat box. All that you will notice is that you have lost the few channels your sub was paying for!
No Problem. I should also have added that, as it belongs to you anyway, you can keep your Sky+HD box as another Freesat HD box in another room. You will get all the Freesat channels plus the currently available free HD channels, BBC1 HD,BBCHD, Channel 4HD Channel 5 HD and NBK HD. To connect all you need to do is run a fourth feed from your dish. If you havent already cancelled your Sky+ sub, you can ask that the recording facility be kept for the freesat channels for only £10/month, but you may already have concluded that free recording on the Humax is sufficient for your needs.
