We all know that there is a colour version that is available to TV Companies but for some daft reason although it has been released as a Video Tape officially it has never been released on dvd which is absolutely crazy.
I am sure that most Collectors would buy the Colour version even although they already own the B & W version.
I have seen The Longest Day Colour Version on UK TV and the Colorization is very good hence why I cant work out why they dont release it on DVD.
I agree! I can't for the life of me imagine why Fox doesn't release the colorised version on dvd especially as the VHS version is now changing hands for a premium on amazon.com and ebay as it so rare. And I have asked them this question via their web site!
In fact, I recently bought another copy of the colorised VHS version as a back-up just in case the studio doesn't release it on dvd. Not re-releasing a classic film like this in colour when it was previously only available in black and white (apart from a short while when the colourised version was made available to commerorate the 50th anniversary), is commerciall naive.
They've go to wake up and smell the roses someday!
I, along with countless other WW2 buffs, would willingly buy the coloured version of the Longest Day. I saw the colour version on tv once but can't afford the inflated vhs prices as seen on the market. Come on, let's have that coloured version on dvd!!!
