Product Description

The ioShutter is a fully-functional shutter release system for the Apple iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. With programmable and upgradable timers, time-lapse, bult for long exposures, ClapToSnap sound trigger, ShakeToTake movement trigger and more. The only thing extra you will need is the ioShutter App you can download from the App Store on you Apple device!

ioShutter App:

The ioShutter App is available to download from the iTunes store now. Comes as either a free Lite version with basic features, and a Pro version with fully customisable features.

Timer, Bulb and Timelapse:

ioShutter includes a 20 second and 60 second timer. This gives you more time to set up your shot. The Bult mode offers 60, 90 and 120 second slow shutter speeds for night photography. The Timelapse feature gives three options so you can make your own timelapse films!

Sound and ShakeToTake:

You are able to trigger your camera with Sound using this ioShutter! Either clap, laugh, scream or bang and it will take a shot!

3.0 out of 5 stars Nice invention with much more potential 22 July 2012
By Mishleo - Published on Amazon.com
It's a great tool to have in your bag. If you don't have a digital remote shutter release, this will more than do. The application is good and has cool options for timelapse, shake to take (which I'm still trying to figure out when I will need to shake more than press a button). The clap to take is not very reliable sometimes you need to clap repeatedly to take a shot.
I was looking for some cooler options when I bought the io shutter online since I already have a shutter remote. Still though I think it's great to have it and I expect the new app upgrades and other apps to find much more interesting uses for this product.

1.0 out of 5 stars BE WARY 26 Jan 2013

I bought this and relative to other bulb/timers its not cheap but if it works with my IPhone why not I figured. It performed poorly for me. Never worked properly in bulb or timer mode. The slide switch feature is a joke. I scoured forums looking for solutions and read one where the creator gave some tips for another frustrated buyer. Tried his tips and it still performed poorly. Sent the makers an email which they never responded to. Sent the product back and am now trying to get reimbursed for a useless app. If you buy it stick with the free app until you are convinced it works for you. Bought a normal bulb/timer for 13.00. ALL HAT NO CATTLE as we say in Montana.

1.0 out of 5 stars Seriously? 15 Jan 2013
By Tom Upton - Published on Amazon.com
I was eying the IOshutter in the Apple store and got it as a gift the very next day! I thought, "Well I shall check this out!" and was excited to set it up and use it. (Never really bonded with the poor ergonomics of the Canon RS-80N3 release). I opened the box and found a very minimal cable with connectors and dongle. I order similar specialty cables from Monoprice all the time for quality and value. A little underwhelmed for the price, but nevertheless I downloaded the app and proceeded to do what was touted on the box. The initial connections did not work and eventually did after serious massaging of the connector cable in the iPhone jack, this is often a "tell" in electronics regarding reliability. The iPhone headphone jack is notoriously noisy to begin with and this release system is converting an audio signal into triggering pulse for the camera, yeah, maybe cool for kids, but a bit iffy for work...At this point I was trying to remember if this thing cost my friend $40 or $70...

Upon engaging the free(!) App I found that I could shake my iPhone and it would release my 7D. I could also applaud the iPhone and get it to take a picture. Now I was really beginning to wonder, "Why, for God;'s sake I would ever need to release my shutter by shaking my iPhone?" I am a photographer, and the act of triggering a shutter is more focused, deliberate act than this seemingly cartoon-ish impractical permutation. I was interested in the intervalometer feature. As I was using the app I kept seeing pop ups for the pro version, and was irked at this, in that the cost of this thing was way beyond what most people pay for a typical iPhone app. Could this Klugy Kable really be more expensive than the Canon release and do so much less? Turns out that the most interesting uses I was intending to try would only be available if I coughed up the cash for this very narrowly functioned item. I think these developers must be good at sweet talking investors, while knowing nothing about photographers, except a cynical belief that we are stupid and will spend any amount for something gadget-y and photography related. In the end I have a new-found admiration for my Canon release as it is much more reliable, and was most delighted when I returned the IOshutter to Apple and got credit on a gift card; wow, that was a close one!
