They’re opposites. In most situations they’d barely see the other as a life form. One’s a street kid with an amazing talent for business. The other’s a clairvoyant Swede with a take-no-prisoners PFLAG-activist mom.
From the best-selling and award-winning author of Brent: the Heart Reader, and Vamp Camp, and Fangs over America, and Tarot for Christians, comes this tale of two young men who should never have met. A near tragedy “threw” them together even though neither wanted it.
influential is the tender story of a romance that thrived despite the couple’s best efforts.
About the Author
For a decade after college, Wynn Wagner was a radio disc jockey and newscaster in Texas and New York. “I was fired,” he likes to say, “from some of the best stations in Dallas.” Later he was a computer programmer by trade. In the 1980s, he wrote a computer “bulletin-board system” (BBS) called Opus. Long before there was an internet, Opus pioneered the technology needed to link computers around the world to share files, e-mails, and conversations. Every penny earned by Opus was donated to HIV research and care. It was one of the most widely used communications systems of the 1980s, so it generated a ton of money when few were supporting AIDS and HIV organizations. Wynn wrote “Day One.” It is an article for those who have just been told they have HIV. “Day One” has been translated into a dozen languages and is the most read article about HIV ever published.
