5.0 out of 5 stars A good first tablet 11 Sep 2013
By KM #1 HALL OF FAME TOP 10 REVIEWER
I've been using this Android tablet for a week now.

If you have an Android phone you will be familiar with this tablet the second you turn it on as it runs on the latest Android operating system which is Jelly Bean 4.2.2

In the box you will find -
- The 9 inch tablet
- 1 OTG Cable (female USB to micro USB)
- 1 USB to micro USB cable
- The charger
- A brief instruction booklet

This already had 75% charge on it so was ready to go out the box.

There was a screen protector film on the capacitive screen which I took off. It feels solidly built in the hand although a tad weighty to hold after a while. There are no touch sensitive buttons around the edge of the screen and all the 'back' 'home' 'settings' etc are done along the bottom of the screen. Around the outer edge you have the power button and volume rocker type switch on the left side.

Along the bottom you will find all your connectivity. You have -
- 1 HDMI port
- 1 Micro USB port
- Charging socket
- 3.5mm Headphone socket
- Mic
- Micro SD card slot

So plenty of connectivity there!

I have uploaded a pic of these.

The screen resolution at 480 x 800 is a bit of a let down but given the price and other good specs, something had to go. This is a capacitive screen and I found sometimes it doesnt register your touch but a second press and it will. This is why I took the screen protector off. I felt it worked better. In use it's perfectly do-able though. Just a small niggle for me as an Ipad owner. The screen colours during videos, movies and pics are not bad at all. If you're a Flickr/InstagramFacebook user you'll be okay with the picture viewing quality. The screen is a pinch and zoom type.

I bought this table for my husband. I have had a 10" Asus table for 3 years which I love. However my husband kept "borrowing" it to play Candy Crush. So for his birthday I decided to get him one of his own. As this was not his main present I did not want to spend too much. The item arrive within a couple of days and as Wise Technology ship through the Amazon warehouse, communications were excellent.

Pro's
- Screen is glass so controlling the touch screen is so much better than plastic (I know as our daughter as a very cheap 7" tablet") - note item arrives with a protective screen which makes the controls a little jerky. I removed the screen and it is now excellent.
- Casing is a very solid plastic, but has a great feel. The back casing has a slight pattern on so makes it feel comfortable to hold.
- Dual Core 1.2ghz processor is really fast. We have played movies on it and it runs perfectly. Temple Run 2 (always a good trial) is fine and the 3d affects are smooth. Other tablets at this price only have a 1.0ghz processor - watch out. I also didn't think an extra £50 was warranted for a quad core processor - but that's my opinion.

Con's
- Speaker is at the back so when laying down, you can't hear it very well, and the loud setting isn't very loud so for movies you have to wear earphones.
- No others found !!!!!

I love this tablet. If it had been around 3 years ago when I spent £400 on the Asus, I would have bought this instead.

You won't be dissappointed.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good Tablet For Your Money..!! 10 Sep 2013

LATEST UPDATE 22/01/2014 - Received the new version today.
Please read my full review - it is quite long...

OK, I may just be very lucky with the tablets I have received or I'm just not as fussy as some.

I could tell straight away there is a big improvement in the resolution. This is a great improvement on the previous version.
I have tested this tablet for nearly two hours. Battery was on 67% when it was delivered and went to 65% without any changes in settings.
Connected to WiFi OK - no problems. The browser on the tablet is still slow but Firefox makes browsing quicker. No change there.
Tested games with Temple Run II and it played absolutely fine.
Tested WiFi: Youtube played fine, BBC iPlayer was fine (even when I maximized and minimized the video), tested against a site with lots of images and videos on it. It loaded fairly quickly and the video load time was OK for a tablet. The videos on the site played fine and were not choppy. Youtube videos played OK, even when you maximized them and set the resolution to HD. Although were a bit choppy when you minimized them(?).
I had 3 other devices connected to my WiFi when I tested WiFi connectivity, a good test is video playback from the internet! I went into every room in my house and the garden and I didn't lose connection or experience any loss in quality or playback.
The volume on my tablet was fine and even had to turn it down when playing some of the videos.

I still stand by my full review below too.

This is a very good tablet for the price. No, it's not an iPad but it's a really good budget tablet. I have two and have not experienced any issues at all and the new resolution is a big improvement.
