Gameplay

Like its predecessor, infamous 2 is a single player Action-Adventure game set in an Open World game environment. Players take on the role of Cole, the returning anti-hero from the first game. Possessing electric burst abilities through his hands Cole has matured a bit as a superhero type, being more confident and focused in his abilities. He uses these abilities, as well as improved melee possibilities to battle enemies both large and small in mission-based gameplay. Along with combat, choice remains a big part of the game, with an improved morality system that allows for two separate endings to the game, depending on the choices that Cole makes.

User Generated Content

Unlike the original game in the series, infamous 2 contains significant user generated content tools that dramatically expand gameplay possibilities. Centered around a creation tool system, this allows players to create original missions and share them with other players via PlayStation Network. These function more or less as side quests once they are accepted, adding to the player's point total, but not altering the primary mission flow and morality-based aspects of the game.

Key Game Features

  • A True Superhero Experience - Discover what it means to be a true superhero with epic boss battles and powerful cinematic sequences
  • Advanced Super Powers - Experience being a full-blown superhero with enhanced electrical attacks, a visceral melee fighting system and new superpowers
  • An All-new Open Dynamic Gameworld - Explore a vibrant world in the city of New Marais with increased interactivity and destruction using dynamic parkour moves
  • New Morality System - All new morality system gives players freedom of choice and leads to 2 different endings
  • User Generated Content - Create and share original missions with a built-in tool set that function as side quests

4.0 out of 5 stars 4/5 sums this up nicely. 25 Mar 2013

I really enjoyed the storyline, it was creative yet simple and the combat combo system is something I really enjoyed. If you're new to superhero games, or just want a pretty straight forward superhero game, go for this. It's only competition is Prototype, and since I've played very little of that, I can't say much to compare. Loved the free-roaming and saving/killing people to affect the Karma scale, that was fun. :D

Arrived very fast, so that's a nice plus :)

4/5 sums it up really. All games could have more in them, it's rare to find the perfect game, but this is by no means a bad game at all.

Liked the first infamous you'll be right at home here. With you once again taking the role of your favourite electric super hero/villain Cole McGrath. Infamous2 takes place straight after the first game with Cole having to help or destory the new city of New Marais to find an object called ray sphere to stop The Beast. In Infamous2 you will see old faces from the first game and theres mentions of the events that took place to give you a feel that you made a difference for good or bad. You'll meet new friends and gain new foes on your journey with new enemies to face to the henchmen to massive 60 foot monsters. You will gain new powers to make Cole even stronger nd be considered a force not to be messed with. The game is a free roam game that you can go and pick up missions and do extra things like pick up blast shards and help the city folk, Infamous2 still has a karma feature so you can becomce a hero or villain to the city. Overall the game is great must have in a playstation collection or if you like super hero games. At this price well worth it and if you havent played the first I would recommend you pick it up just so you know whats going on. Graphics are nice and movement is very fluid, glitches are few and far between.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Great Follow-up 27 Jun 2012

Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
I had my doubts about this game as it did look as though it would have the exact same storyline and controls as the original inFamous. Luckily, there are completely different moves and controls which make a for a good sequel. The storyline is quite good, following up from the previous game while keeping original - you could play this game without necessarily playing the first.

Having powerful allies keeps you involved with the game. Both the good and bad ally each have their own part to play in the storyline, with you deciding who to go with to progress through the story.

It's not a long game, but there is more replay value that the previous game. Once the game is complete, there is usually something to do like play user-generated missions or picking up the collectibles.
