Nigella started using this product when the stylists ventured into her Shepherds Bush kitchen and streamlined her homeliness to embody serious tv chef. When this product continued to achieve a presence in each subsequent kitchen (along with a handful of other obviously treasured items) I thought, hold on, what do we have here? They look good (stylist tick) and they've successfully gone the distance ensconcing themselves into 3 of Nigella's kitchens, i.e. they may also be very good. I love cooking, I particularly enjoy watching Nigella's enjoyment in cooking and her ability to make basic utensils appear aspirational. I learned very early in my cookery journey that I should invest in saucepans that will never need to be replaced.
Nigella's very attractive saucepans became one of those aspirational items for me (just like whisk with the ball) So, I did my research and found this iittala range of cookware designed by someone Dahlstrom. Mmm.... Pricey!!!!
£200+ for a saucepan, can I justify spending that on anything not Le Creuset? YES DEFINITELY when said product is reduced by Amazon to £69 and there's only 1 left!
So I've had it for a year a so,this is a quality steel product, thick single moulded saucepan where just handling it you can see its inherent design is matched by exacting manufacturing standards. I have seen the price of this 2 litre saucepan reach £189. I would love the larger casseroles as they cook beautifully, will not warp, stain, have any cause to become damaged unless you chose to abuse them. But I haven't yet convinced myself that the near £300 price tag is one I can readily part with. May convince myself if I get a bonus this decade or my investment in Camelot bears fruit. If you are in a more fortunate position than me and have been waiting for someone to post a review, BUY IT!
