iaMOutdoor 1200 Lumen Rechargeable Waterproof Head Torch & Bike Light

This light is fantastic. Can not believe how powerfull it is compared to standard bike lights. Build quality is very good also. Used for moutain biking in forest and it is ideal. On road, it should probably have a dip mode, it is that good. Other reviews said that they had movement with the bar mount. I have had no problem even over the real rough stuff. In another review, they complained that there was no instructions but I do not think this is a problem as set up and charging is so basic. Great product at a great price especially compared to other bike lights of this power on the market.

I had been thinking about buying a very expensive Cateye or similar for off road biking, when I came across this one. After reading several reviews, which were all favourable, I decided to give it a go. I was not disappointed! I could not believe the power of this light for the money. The one and only gripe I have about it is that I do wish the mounting was adjustable to enable a swift and sturdy beam angle change. As it is, it is fixed, so changing the angle is done purely by actually rotating the entire fitting, which leads to slight slippage of the unit. That notwithstanding, I am delighted with this purchase.

This is the second lamp like this I have bought. The last one cost me £80 for exactly the same lamp in a different brand. They send out a really useful, very bright beam for 2 hours at full power. I commute year round on unlit ex-railway cycle tracks - in rain and fog. No traditional light is enough. These do the job.

They are not reliable - there is no point pretending they are! After a year the filaments in the wire broke, but I simply cut out the offending length and rewired it with some plugs from Maplin for less than £5. After 2 years in the rain the switch stopped working properly.

So why have I bought another one?? Because £25 for 1200 useful lumens is a bargain - add the £5 for a rewire after a year and you have £30 for 1200 lumen lighting for 2 years. See it as £15 a year! You can pay £150 upwards for lamps that are not as good at lighting the way and that I would not trust to last anyway. Unless they lasted more than 10 years it is cheaper to buy a new one of these every 2 years.

Do shop around - they are available under all sorts of brands. I also like the head mounting strap. I lead D of E expeditions on Dartmoor and this will be great for finding missing kids in the middle of the night! I still have the battery pack from my previous lamp - another benefit of repeat purchase.

Torch is excellent gives a good wide bright beam, metal parts on lamp can get warm if used for any length of time, Would not recommend that you purchase with delivery from Hong Kong as i was charged import tax and administration fee by courier. You can buy cheaper from UK supplier with free delivery or small postage charge. Requested feedback from Amazon on the import tax which was not made known upfront but as yet no response. Happy walking and cycling.

Work really well and last a good 3 hours. Only downside is the weight of the battery pack. Overall a good product.

There is no need to spend £100's on a bike light, this one does the job perfectly. Ok, over rough terrain in might bounce a bit, but on the whole a sound purchase. Recommended!!

The iaMOutdoor 1200 Lumen Rechargeable Waterproof Head Torch & Bike Light is outstanding value for money and I will highly recomend this product to anyone looking for a high quality head lamp/cycle light, the light unit it self can be mounted in 2 ways firstly it can be mounted to a head strap
via a thick "O" ring (2 supplied 1 large and 1 smaller one) the smaller one for the head strap and the larger one for mounting to the handle bars of a bycicle.

The battery pack come's with it own protective case which has its own belt loop for the head strap and a velcro strap for mounting to a bycicle,
the light it self is comfortable to ware and the battery pack is compact and light in weight which again makes it comfortable to ware and dose not get in the way.

The switch on the light unit glows when connected to the battery pack which is very handy, the light has 3 modes full power, half power and a very rapid strobe flash, on full power I have found it last around 4 and half hours, half power its around 15 hours but at the moment i have not tried it out for strobe battery life.

the Light unit is well made and is all aluminum and the lens is made of glass, the head mount option is also of high quality as are all cables and the battery pack is wraped in several layers of heat shrink coating and the battery case is made of a heavy nylon cloth and is of a very good quality, the only down side is the lack of instrutions but this is of little problem and everything is pretty much self explaining also there is no guess work to when the battery has charged as the light on the charger turns from red to green so there is no need to time the charging rate.

This is a must buy for anyone looking for a powerfull light thats not going to cost the earth
