I was really pretty disappointed with the iStereodock. It looks great and I love the kitsch appeal of it, but the sound quality is not so great at the volume levels you require to hear the music over other people in a living room or other large space in the house. Also, while it may say that the unit is powered by the AC mains adaptor, you need to buy one separately, otherwise it's time to stock up on your AAs. I use mine in a smaller area of the house as well as outside and it does do everything else it says it does, just make sure you are aware of the fact you'll need to buy an extra piece of equipment with it, which is why it took a beating in my rating.

This is awful. Don't waste your money.Tinny sound.Doesn't come with mains adaptor.Doesn't appear to charge ipods when connected to adaptor.There are better products for less when you consider cost of dock + adaptor(about �20)My 12 year old son was really disappointed on Christmas Day.

The speaker itself is a good sound quality if you ipod is compatible or if you use the supplied audio cable. However when the product packaging states that it is compatible with an ipod touch you expect an ipod touch to work, however having connected my ipod touch (2nd gen) i was greeted with a message saying "Charging is not compatible with this accessory". On further reading around the internet I found a few retailers saying that it is compatible with all ipods except the iphone and ipod touch and 1 says it is only compatible with the 1st gen touch. Why then do the manufacturers include an ipod touch block if a touch or iphone is not compatible. The marketing is very misleading. Very few retailers are saying that the speakers are compatible or are even aware.

The other bug bear of the dock is as mentioned by another reviewer, there is no power adapter supplied. All in all I am disappointed with this product, it was purchased by my girlfriend for christmas and I am going to send it back most likely.
