The iRobot Roomba vacuum cleaning robot removes dirt, debris and hair from all types of floors at the touch of a button.
Featuring iAdapt Responsive Cleaning Technology, Roomba monitors the cleaning environment over 60 times per second, using multiple sensors and over 40 behaviours to maximise cleaning performance. It thoroughly cleans your carpets, hardwood, tile and linoleum floors, including in tight spots, under and around furniture and along edges.

The 600 Series delivers greater ease of use with superior hair handling ability – innovative longer-lasting brushes handle fibres more effectively than ever, whilst AeroVac Technology maximises air flow through the cleaning head to pull debris off the brushes and into the newly designed larger bin.

The 650 can easily be scheduled to clean whenever you want – up to seven times per week, whilst the Virtual Wall barrier allows you to confine Roomba to specific rooms or areas before it returns to its Home Base to dock and recharge between cleanings. All you have to do is press “Clean” and let Roomba do the dirty work.

The Roomba 600 series, which includes model 650 offers a number of improvements over the 500 series. On the hardware front the 600 models has "AeroVac Technology" for an improved vacuuming system, an improved cleaning head module with better brush design and airflow, and a pop of colour on the top.

The 600 series looks a bit nicer than the 500s, is a slightly more efficient cleaner, and its bin has to be emptied less often, but most of the key features are unchanged. The 600 series is still designed for up to 110 square metres and works with optional virtual walls.

Roomba: Born to Make a Difference

There are now many vacuum-cleaning robots on the market. However,
Roomba remains a unique product from a unique company because, whilst other products are the result of an appliance manufacturer deciding to build a robot, Roomba is the creation of a robotics company, who decided to make people’s lives better.

Roomba: From Dream to Real Life

Roomba was created to live in our world: a world with furniture and pets, children and dirt, different floor coverings and precious possessions and homes with more than one room lived in by real people with busy lives. We created Roomba to live in the real world.

The Power to Adapt

One of Roomba’s major advantages is its unique navigation system, iAdapt Responsive Cleaning Technology. This advanced system of sensors and software lets Roomba adapt to its environment, making more than 60 decisions every second and employing the most relevant of dozens of cleaning behaviours. So, unlike its competitors, who clean rigidly in straight lines and can become confused by obstacles, Roomba will cope perfectly in your home. It tackles every room on its own merits, adapting its path to clean more of the floor more thoroughly, including along edges and under, around and behind furniture. Roomba’s iAdapt is driven by a series of infrared sensors, which constantly monitor its surroundings and report to a complex processor where advanced software interprets the information and allows it to react accordingly.

Firstly lets get this out of the way, this is inarguably a non-necessary, luxury purchase. I'm lazy, and I can live with it. However, when you consider the cost of a cleaner (which I used to have), while it obviously does only one specific task as opposed to a human that does more, it quickly pays for itself.

Secondly, I am an honest, no-BS kind of bloke. If something is good, I say it's good. if it's bad, I say it's bad. I have a very good critical and objective opinion as well as heavy lashings of common sense, so you can take the below as a full and frank account of what I really think of this device thus far.

Fact: I HATE cleaning, as a single guy it's the scourge of my free time and I am always looking for ways to make life easier in that department. A friend bought one a couple of years ago and has raved about it for so long (she is also very homely and fastidious) that I finally started to do some research myself to see what the fuss was about.

Reviews and user feedback was generally very positive even from cleaning experts and fussy housewives, especially for the new range of models, and according to user experiences it apparently cleans around 95% of your floors, with the other 5% in difficult to reach areas like corners needing good old-fashioned elbow grease. I then went online and duly ordered my new robot son.

My apartment, for those into stat-porn, is around 80m2, and consists of a bedroom, living room, dining room, kitchen and hallway.

I have now used the Roomba for just over a week. Every day at 12pm my robotic son has patrolled my apartment, his little brushes whirring merrily as he collects my household detritus.

I bought the 650 and had it a week and I'm really pleased with my purchase. Beforehand I admit I used my normal hoover first and was interested to see if this picked up anymore dust and dirt. I was amazed at how much it picked up!
It covers the floor and was easy to set up and set up the scheduler. Someone wrote a review to say they couldn't set the scheduler while it was on charge but not sure if that's correct as mine let me do this.
I've found it easy to clean afterwards too. There is only 1 issue why I have not given this a 5 star rating-It does not like to clean my black shaggy rug - I think the infrared doesn't like the colour so beware if you have black carpets. I tried to pick it up and set it to clean on the rug but it just kept giving an error to move it. Also I wish it could climb the stairs but haven't seen a hoover yet that will do this.
Good points- good suction power, good at cleaning edges, and it finds dirt even if you have hoovered. When I set it upstairs which is carpeted (but not black) it cleaned really well and left my carpets looking fresh and fluffed up. It cleans well downstairs on my hardwood floor and the Lino in the kitchen too. On the landing it did not fall over the stairs either.
It seems really lazy to own one but I was able to leave it to do its thing and do something else. It returned to its charger with no problem at all.
It is no louder than my normal hoover so nothing to worry about and effectively picks up any hairs etc. You have a flat tool to clean the brushes after and also a spare filter they recommend you replace every 2 months. I haven't tried the light wall yet but will do.
Overall it was worth the money and my house has never been so clean as its not a chore anymore I just press the button and off it goes.
I will keep my normal hoover for my black rug and the stairs but fully recommend the 650.

I like the Roomba a lot and the performance is excellent, so why the 1 star? Well when you spend a lot of money you expect it to last more than 18 months and should it fail you expect a brand like irobot to provide a good after care service. Instead I found the after sales service poor, they stated my fault was in the software and needed a new controller (so that is breaking British consumer law as software faults can only be systematic and therefore present on the day it was sold, unfortunately the law requires me to prove the case). They said I could buy a new controller for £150, given that the controller does not include battery, brushes, bin etc the price works out they same as if I was buying it new with no discount. Given that it was only 18 months old at the time of the fault, I find this appalling service when compared to other technology companies (also breaks European Directive on electronic equipment warranties). So did I put my case to iRobot, well yes and I just got a short email closing my support case. So in conclusion if you are just about to spend a lot of money ask yourself can you afford to buy from a company that won't be fair if it fails shortly after the warrantee runs out and is this because they can't afford to be fair as this is not unusual.

First of all I would like to clarify that I bought the product from a local dealer but I read all the reviews from amazon before I make up my mind. The Roomba can clean the whole house with out a problem but it might loose some spot. If you use the robot every second day the whole house in a week will be 100% clean.

I am so happy with the results of the Roomba that I am considering to buy a scooba. I have not use the schedule programming of the robot but it can be programmed for daily cleaning.

The only drawback of the product is the price. It is expensive but it is worthy.

All in all, I STRONGLY recommend it and I think it is a MUST product for every man's house.
