4.0 out of 5 stars iLuv I353 In Ear Earphones - A good budget buy! 13 Jan 2010
    By Steve.J TOP 500 REVIEWER

I bought these in-ear phones as a replacement for the horribly uncomfortable earphones that came with my iPod Shuffle, which would not stay in place, and had no way of adjusting the fit. APPLE should be ashamed of themselves for providing such appalling OEM equipment (I would have returned the Shuffle immediately if it had not been an Xmas present).
The selection of soft ear buds that came with the iLuv unit have allowed me to get a decent and comfortable in-ear fit, allowing me to wear them for at least 2 hours at a time. They were pretty secure as well, I did not feel they were going to drop out every 30 seconds, which was the case with the iPod original earphones. I would say that you need to learn how to fit this type of earphone though, use the same technique as for fitting noise reducing earplugs, by lifting and holding the top of the ear, inserting the ear-phone and gently pushing and holding in place for a couple of seconds. Also experiment with the different size caps that come with it.
As budget in-ear phones the iLuv I353 have performed well, considering the price. They do struggle very occasionally to give clear, sharp sound, but overall performance has been very acceptable, across a range of music types - dance/trance, indie, chart, blues and also spoken word. They also do a reasonable job of blocking out external noise as well.

The volume control is a bit fiddly but works well, which I have found very useful, as I do not want to block out all external sounds when listening. The only thing these lack is the skip function that is on the original iPod phones, hence the 4* rating (but for the price what can you expect and I can live with that!

Bass and sound quality is rather good for such a cheap pair of earphones. They come with 3 different sized attachments to fit in your ear.

5.0 out of 5 stars Aluminium ipod earphones 7 May 2009
These earphones look very stylish and modern. The sound quality is excellent. They are made well, and unlike some other makes, they feel solid. Comfortable and well fitting. Excellent value for money, excellent quality. Certainly recommend these earphones.

2.0 out of 5 stars Experiment with sound but ultimately a let down 14 May 2010
    By KC
You'll need to play around with the Iphone sound settings to find one that works across various musical styles and try out the different earphone sizes too. The sound is average to good.. for the price.

I'm sending these back because unless the volume wheel is set to maximum the sound distribution is terrible.. gonna have to knock off a star for that.

To be honest I think it's worth investing the extra £20 and getting some real quality. You get what you pay for.

1.0 out of 5 stars NO NO NO - Pathetic! 29 Nov 2010
    By jofis
I bought these to replace my old iluv earphones which were decent for the price, i.e basically loud and bassy. These new ones are atrocious! Volume and bass have gone, leaving a sound akin to the loudspeaker on a mobile phone, no exaggeration. Completely flat, dead, tinny sound. Trust me, DO NOT BUY!!

1.0 out of 5 stars Terrible earphones 24 Nov 2010
    By Gareth
These earphones are tinny and have no depth to them, I bought them as a replacement to my iphone earphones but they really are the worst earphones I have ever owned. They are poorly made too, they were broken in the box as the moulding around the volume control was not connected properly. Avoid like the plague.

At this price these buds are the business. Great sound and an in-line volume control that actually works!
