For the price this is an excellent product. The leather is pleasing to the touch and the finish is really good, offering perfect protection for the Sony MP3 player. I don't understand the comment from a previous reviewer that the case covers the buttons because that is certainly not my experience. The only slight niggle (and the reason for deducting a star) is that the case is rather snug so that it is hard to avoid engaging the "Hold" switch as you insert the player into the case. It took me at least three attempts to get the case on without engaging the Hold switch. A question of slowly does it.

A nice case that fits the NWZ range really well. Shame about the cheap press stud closure as the magnetic cathes always suggest higher quality. The main niggle is with the position of the Hold Switch on the player when you slide the player into the case the hold switch is set (a small piece of tape over the switch remedies this). I would recommend this product but with reservations, as a footnote nothing on this product suggests it is genuine Sony.

I agree with a previous reviewer - the Hold button is engaged when you slip the Walkman into the case which is a nuisance. Would be better if there was a further opening in the case to coincide with the Hold button.
The "free" screen saver was useless: it had a sticky tape on it which would not peel off without leaving a paper residue.

I read the mostly possitve reviews and I have to say, this item is better than expected. the point about the case moving the hold slidder have obviously been tasken on board and a redesign has produced a cut away over allowing me to put my NWZA818 on or off hold whenever I want.

the case was delivered a couple of days after ordering it and it fits perfectly. The problem with the HOLD button has been addressed and it is now possible to use the button as well as the volume control whilst the case is closed. It is a very well made case and fits easily into a shirt pocket. I can thoroughly reccommend it.BLACK Genuine Leather Case + screen protector for Sony Walkman Video NWZ-A815, NWZ-A816, NWZ-A818, NWZA815, NWZA816 & NWZA818

I received the case today and am well pleased, having been a little apprehansive on ordering it. It looks just as depicted on Amazon. The Walkman fits in shugly, allowing access to the earphone jack point when the case is closed and also to the USB connector when open. It weights ony 20g and its dimensions are approx 1.7 cm x 9.4 cm (inc fold-over strap) with the Walkman inside, by contrast with the Walkman dimensions of about 0.9 cm x 8.7 cm. It comes with a plastic screen protector that adheres to the player's body with a very slight overlap on all sides of the screen. The display through the protector is very good. There are not a lot of rival products but those I found are mostly twice the price (leaving aside postage cost of £3.99)and come with belt fastener that adds to the bulk or a ring that I was not keen on. The Walkman without a case slips into the shirt pocket unnoticed and I had been worried that the addition of a case would cause unacceptable bulk. It is obviously more bulky but still very light and I do not see it as a real problem.

This is a well made and attractive case, a good mid-way between flimsey versus too heavy. It will protect against abrasion etc well, but it isn't a hard case and won't protect against heavy crushing etc. The leather is good quality, though initially smells strongly (as good leather does).
As other reviewers point out, the HOLD button on the back of the player gets triggered, when you slide the player into the case. This is a real nuisance and the reason for only 4 stars. You can work around this with care, but you can't acces the HOLD button when the player is in the case.
Despite this annoying problem, I am pleased with this product.

I purchased this case for my NWZ-A818 around three months ago now. When the case arrived, it was missing the "free screen protector" but I wasn't miffed by that.

The case is of safe structural design, and has withstood many scrapes and bashes, as it should. The case has a small notch cut out for the hold switch on the back, and I haven't come across any issues with the hold button changing positions either inserting the Walkman or with it inside the case its self.

The main reason I have given this product two stars on the other hand, is based on two events. The push button that secures the screen flap has caused indents to the actual Walkman's back plate. Every time you 'Pop' the button into place, pressure is exerted on your Walkman, over time this will damage your back plate. Secondly, the actually button has fallen off due to the nature of how you un-fasten the button. After three months, the two sections of the knobby button because loose, and eventually came apart rendering the case un-lockable.

In retrospect, if this happened earlier, it would have prevented the Walkman from becoming damages.

Good product, with some major flaws.
