5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant & accessible 16 Mar 2012
Format:Paperback
A great read for anyone who works will children and young people! Insightful, informative, and amazingly for non fiction I found it a real page turner! - Found myself just wanted to know more and more and thinking - 'yes that makes sense' or 'yes I recognise that'. The structure and layout of the book is excellent. Full of hints, help and written with warmth and understanding for all. It does what it says in the title and is very accessible and brilliantly written - it does not exclude by cramming in too much terminology. Absolutely recommend it - should be one in every staff room!

5.0 out of 5 stars Readable, helpful, essential 14 May 2012
Format:Paperback
This is a really accessible and readable book for parents, supported by interesting case studies bringing it to life. It has lots of ideas, tips and ways parents can help their child as well as strategies for coping with everyday problems.

I found the chapter on different therapies very informative. It offers unbiased reviews of a range of therapies, some more unconventional than others, without getting booged down in technical language.Real life experiences of these treatments are also valuable.

Above all the book has a positive outlook which will give families a different perspective, helping to boost confidence and manage dyslexia and dyspraxia.

By Parents in Touch TOP 500 REVIEWER
Format:Paperback
Parents can feel upset and confused when told their child is dyslexic or dyspraxic. They wonder what the words mean and how they can help their child. This informative book answers these questions, and reassures parents that there is plenty they can do to help. How to reassure your child; how to approach the school; strategies to use at home and how to help with homework are covered. There is much to be learnt from the experiences of other parents quoted in the book. It is a practical book that can make a real difference to parents. Teachers will find it invaluable in understanding the issues from the viewpoint of the parents, and all those who come into contact with these syndromes will find their understanding increased.
