4.0 out of 5 stars Good potential on first showing..., 19 May 2008
By Morris Day (Herts, UK) - See all my reviews
Cajun Dance Party - took a while to listen to this purely because of the name, I was think it would be another Klaxons clone - thankfully it is not.

A mature effort from the teenagers here, especially on the album standout No Joanna. There is great potential for their second album (which is due this year in October). Hopefully they can improve and score a second good album where so many bands are struggling to follow up impressive debuts LP's at present.
The opener Colourful life is a good indie-pop song which bops away to a pleasent three and a half minutes, The Race likewise is pure pop music and a good enough single - the album follows suit moving at similar pace, only Amylase doesn't hit the spot for me. All in all, an album which is not life-changing but certainly more enjoyable than pain-inducing.

Only 9 songs meaning the album is on the short side but this is compensated in the price. Here's hoping for more in October.

3 and a half out of five.

5.0 out of 5 stars Stunning Debut, 14 Oct 2008
By Grantona - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
Got this album earlier in the year and its received a lot of plays ever since which is the best compliment I can give it. Only 9 tracks but all are quality - this album brings the sun out and sounds fresh!

Great songs, great vocals and a great arrangement - they have their own sound which is very mature for their age. The synths work a treat on this record. The album packs quite a lot of twists and turns in terms of the pace of the songs which seems to give it more longetivity beyond its catchy choruses. The Next Untouchable and Amylase are classics.

Look forward to seeing what this band can produce next. Give it a spin.

4.0 out of 5 stars Is it just me....?, 25 July 2008
By K. Fuller "portmansford" (UK) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
i noticed someone else likened them to The Kooks, which is true. But really am I the only one who thinks that this is actually Robert Smith singing!? - perhaps under a psydonym or maybe his offspring? - If you like The Cure (Head on The Door stuff) then you'll be charmed by this - they are so similar it's unbelievable. But nice that someone is carrying on The Cure banner.
