Wasn't aware of HannsG before their choice of monitors became available on AmazonUK. A websearch found positive reviews at Misco and Amazon.com. At the price last week (which I note has been reduced since) I was prepared to chance the 17" as a second TFT monitor for our home. I'd agree with other reviews that the bezel and stand are not slim with a styling that won't appeal to everyone and that there is limited adjustment for the stand. But pleased that the monitor has no dead pixels and the power supply is integrated. The brightness and high contrast are also an advantage because the image is still easily visible when sunlight falls across the screen - unlike my existing Acer TFT. It has VGA and DVI connections but just a VGA cable is supplied. So if your budget is around £100 and form is less important than function then consider the HannsG.

As a student, I look for best possible 19" monitor at affordable(lowest) price. Of all the 19" LCD monitor, the Hanns.G is probably the chespest I could get from the UK. I have done a thorough research prior buying this product. The cheapest electronic products we can get from this planet only available in the USA(see Amazon.com). Although we can not buy such products from the US, the picky American gave us clues which is to buy, Hanns.G is among one of those good LCD categories, at least, according to the American customer reviews. In order to get a better understanding of Hanns.G, I visited Taiwan online retail shops(where Hanns.G comes) surprisingly, I sensed that Hanns.G is doing well in Taiwanese market. I then decided go for it.

This decision paid off handsomely. The Hanns.G HU196D provides almost perfect visual performance. Miles better than the LCD of my Toshiba laptop which costs me around 1K. Such quality at such price is truely a best buy!

However, like many other electronic products in the marketplace, it is not perfect for everyone. I found the integrated speakers useless. The combination of gray and black and it's streamline design makes it looks a bit sleeky but clumsy.

It's not a stylish product, but it's very good working partner.
