***** Contains plot spoiler that comes at 30 minutes into film...or not if you read the story line*****

Lisa (Abigail Breslin) wakes up as Bill Murray every morning ala "Ground Hog Day" in 1985. At 30 minutes into the film she also realizes she is Nicole Kidman from "The Others." (Sorry if you haven't seen that film.) It seems she is trapped inside the house with the ghost of a serial killer (Stephen McHattie) who is still active.

The film was done rather smartly. There is an error early on when mom (Samantha Weinstein) calls Robbie (Peter DaCunha) "Buster Brown" one day and then "Charlie Brown" the next day when the days are supposed to be identical. Bad editing that could have been changed with a simple voice over.

Lisa, being our main character and hero also provides us with the film target audience of young teen girls. The horror is mostly subtle. Although the guy is a serial killer, the film refrains from the gore aspect with "intense" scenes not being "Hell Raiser"intense.

I watched this film without reading the storyline and found trying to figure out what was going on enjoyable. This is a film you might want to watch with the family without letting them read the story line.

Would make a great horror rental.

The day before her 16th birthday Lisa wakes up and begins to realise she has done this all before and that she and her family are reliving the same day again and again in a Groundhog Day style manner but with elements of supernatural horror thrown in as Lisa starts to unwind the story of what happened to them on that day.
There's a great cast including Stephen McHattie as the evil Pale Man and Peter Outerbridge from Regenesis as Lisa's father and Abigail Breslin as Lisa.
Not to give too much of the plot away but I'm a horror movie fan and I love decent ghost stories that rely on the strength of the actual story and not buckets of fake blood, I enjoyed this movie almost as much as I did The Others. There are the odd moments that tend to drag but there is more than enough in the remaining 80% or so to maintain interest and it does have a decent ending.
There's just one extra a 20 minute Behind The Scenes documentary with interviews with the writer, director and several leading cast members.
If you like a well told spooky tale it's well worth a watch and one that I will definitely be watching again.

I thought this was a good ghost story. I worried the 'goundhog' day style might be a bit boring but it wasn't and I wanted to know what was going on. Good acting with some real scary moments. We need more ghost stories like this that have real quality about them.

Really good film and a good twist on the old classic haunting films. An interesting concept of seeing life through the eyes of ghosts rather than the living, a similar film to "the others" but with a more mysterious and chilling storyline. I really recommend this film its a good watch!!!

If you watched and liked The Others you will most likely love this one too. This is a bit more straightforward and more predictable (you will get an idea pretty quickly), but nevertheless good. A big lover of a proper ghost story, I found a lot in this movie to like. A girl finds herself in a ground-hog day scenario and has to find out what is behind the repetition of things, why her family is behaving so strangely and what she needs to do to brake the circle.

It is not entirely free of cliché, and you will undoubtedly recognise all of them, but still I think that a really good ghost movie should rely on a story, play acting and "atmosphere", rather than rivers of blood and gore and rotten corpses falling from cupboards. And this film is certainly up to the challenge.

Oh, and the villain was pretty convincing and well played, which is sort of rarity. They are mostly schematic and violent these days.

A good idea, well executed, with a strong lead performance and suitable eerie atmosphere. However, given the budget I would have thought the writers could have come up with a slightly better ending. It's one of those films which has a great premise but suffers from an inability to get around the situation the cast finds itself in from the outset. Overall worth a watch.

This film is a very beautifully written ghost story with a twist. Very original, uses none of the tired and over-used gimmicks and scares. Loved the story, the acting, and the atmosphere was very tense. Highly recommend it.

Wasn't expecting such a psychological ghost story, it really does have an excellent plot, kept me riveted for the whole movie.
