Saw first four episodes on TV but was on holiday for the last two programmes. Frustrated by lack of these on bbc iplayer. Saved by amazon and able to catchup on the compelling story, and see Sarah in action to the end.super drama

This is such a great series and I think Sarah Lancaster should get an oscar for an utterly superb performance. I had to pinch myself that this wasn't a fly on the wall documentary. The story line has you on the end of your seat and the psychopath Tommy is chilling. I truly recommend this series to anyone but be warned you may need to take a tea break half way through just so you can breath again!!! Yes, it's that good!!'

A mini series that is not afraid of the dark edges of the psyche. Brilliant writing (again) from Wainwright and a deeply human central character played magnificently by Sarah Lancashire. I could not help being reminded of the decency of the central character of "Dickson of Dock Green" and wondered if that 60's drama had somehow influenced Lawrence in the portrayal. Thank goodness the Beeb are helping to shape great female leads on and off screen.

I went on holiday for a fortnight on the date Happy Valley episode 6 was on tv & as it was the last episode (i had seen previous 5 episodes) i really wanted to see it, i have tried getting it on Netflix a few times but it was not available.
I got Amazon Prime free for a month so looked through to see if Happy Valley was on there, i had to pay to watch it but it was worth it to be able to watch the closing episode.
Thank you Amazon. :)

great series, which I missed when it was shown on TV.
Recommended by a relative of mine and I decided to watch when I had some time between Christmas and New Year. I couldn't stop watching so I saw the whole series in 24 hours!
The characters were real and believable, a real gritty drama which the BBC are so good at.
Very pleased.

Watch it. It's amazing. I still like the start at the park and the chase of the ice cream van. The crazy job of the Police! That intertwined with the great story line and the way that the local sergeant is made to be so valuable. She lives there, knows the people and not the usual American style computer links. Brilliant
