Parkland is unusual in focusing on the person who shot the iconic home movie of Kennedy's assassination and on the hospital staff who treated both Kennedy and Lee-Harvey Oswald after they were shot. Parkland is the name of the hospital where both were brought. The film is very well played out and, by using key background events rather than the assassination itself as the central theme, avoids the documentary leaning of previous films around this event and provides whole new interest to those of us who do remember exactly where we where when we heard that Kennedy had been shot.

We really enjoyed Parkland. Very well acted and good character development. What a pleasure to see a serious Hollywood film with no car chases, explosions or gratuitous swearing, sex and violence. Would recommend to anyone who enjoys watching quality actors working well with a quality script.

If like me you the kind of person who loved Oliver Stone's 'JFK' you will love this. Parkland tells the story of the often not discussed reaction at Parkland Hospital at the news they will be attending the President minutes after the assassination. What they hadn't accounted for was that the same team of people would be attending Lee Harvey Oswald, the alleged assassin, hours after!!

Although not a urgently styled 'Tour De Force' of filming like JFK .. Parkland is a true factual account of the thoughts of feelings of those who had to provide a daily service to the most important person they could ever attend to

And then the twist happens. You get to see the viewpoint of the Oswald family....

A very nice touch at the end credits is the character comparison.. photo's of the movie characters alongside those who where there on that day in Dallas

Don't expect this to be an 'on the edge of your seat' thriller, but it is a balanced and absorbing look at the main protagonists in this real life drama, and soberly views the devastating effect that such a human tragedy can have on the families and professionals involved. In my opinion, it is far more informative than Oliver Stone's film, and probably more accurate, if less sensationalist.

Okay. I felt it was a good film. I could smell the flavour of the Kennedy sixties. However, the name 'Parkland' was the wrong title for this movie. They should have called it "DALLAS: 11/22/63".

You got the story of Abraham Zapruder's film, and Oswald's mother and brother. What did any of this have to do with Parkland Hospital?

A fresh perspective on the Kennedy assassination. This film put conspiracy theories into the margins and concentrates on the impact of events on characters close to the events from their perspective. At times very moving and startling in its immediacy. If you appreciate quality drama well scripted with great acting you will enjoy this.

Forget all the conspiracy movies this is very good. The mood is very sombre and you can feel the anguish and disbelief from the assembled star cast. A very stripped down vision of how people directly involved coped and reacted to what happened and one that is a fresh twist on the Kennedy assassination story.

My husband is always eager to read more on the intrigue of the assassination of JFK. We have visited Dallas and felt the lingering atmosphere that prevails. This DVD - Parkland - concentrated on the hospital - immediately before and after the shooting. It was a different angle from which to view the events and we found it fascinating. It was incredible to see how many people were actually present at the outset in the hospital theatre when the medics were trying to save JKF. You could feel the turmoil and ordered chaos that was present and the anguish of the nurses and doctors who were going about their normal duties until this horrific event unfolded. I was immersed in the film and could not take my eyes from the screen from beginning to end, i would recommend anyone who is fascinated by the JFK assassination to watch this and see what happened inside Parklands.
