I got so engrossed with season one, and thought O no is that it? then I see two more seasons, so I get season two, and three.
I love his character in this, and he keeps his accent, a bonus to add to the character.
He plays a Doctor who makes his living by reading people's faces, he can say they are lying, but not what they are lying about, but he digs in more to find the truth.
He is divorced with a teenage daughter, and the banter between them is great, its also interesting to see how he handles his daughters boyfriends? lol only the tough would stay around, its hilarious, but she is lovely, and has her head screwed on, and loves her dad, making him vulnerable at times.
Its extremely cleaver, because just as you think he's lost the plot, all is revealed to have been set up by him, because he tells lies.
to get to the truth.
You really have to watch it.

Season 3 of Lie to Me got off to a shaky start as Tim Roth's character seemed to have taken a big step past his normal quirkiness into full blown insanity. He had the manic energy of a drug addict and it made me really dislike the opening episodes of the season. However, he began to settle into his usual brilliant self after a few episodes and the series began to pick up the same pace and quality as the previous two seasons.

I was aware going in that this was going to be the final season of the show however it quickly becomes apparent that show runners weren't similarly informed (at least I guess this is the case). The series really didn't have the feel of a final season and indeed the show seemed to be picking up pace as it approached its final episode with new characters getting screen time and relationships moving forward with the usual pace of a procedural show finding its feet.

Because of this not only did the season not feel like a final season, the finale lacked any kind of closure whatsoever. It's a shame as this show deserved more than just to fizzle out in what felt like a mid-season break rather than a complete end.

Overall I was pleasantly surprised with this show. The main premise is hard to buy if you think too hard about it, but the writers did a good job of making the most of what they had and the show still felt strong. The main thing I will remember about Lie to Me however is Tim Roth. He's living proof with this that a strong lead actor can really carry a show and while the rest of the cast did a decent job, Roth made the show what it was and the character of Cal Lightman will be missed.

All I can say to finish is that once again a good show has been cancelled early while so many bad shows remain, which is a real shame. However, don't let the poor ending to this show put you off. The episodes that have aired are fun, easy watching television and well worth a try.

Really enjoyed this and the other seasons. So sad that this is the final season, could have been a much longer story but everything has to end. Does make you look at people a bit closer to see if you can find those micro expressions.....

This was a fantastic series. My partner found Cal Lightman annoying at one point but got back into it very quickly! Tim Roth is extremely convincing, plays a very complex character and the other actors/characters are excellent too. Quite convinced they can all read people like they do in the series! Very disappointed there are no more series planned if what everyone says is correct but maybe Tim Roth had had enough of Cal Lightman, it must have been exhausting playing him. Would highly recommend this series, so different to any other I have ever watched.

I found this to be one of the best series I have ever seen. It was wonderful and I believe it had it all. I am really disappointed that they are thinking of not making series 4 and cut series 3. Are they mad????
Listen to the customers and make a further series.
