I love this film it's about the underdog coming out on top because he deserves to! Eminem at his best!

Good yarn but mainly best if you are a fan of Eminem. Kim Basinger plays a good part too. Rap battles are very well done in my opinion

Eminem is Jimmy Smith Jr, a white rapper living in the 313 (Detroit), just trying to get by and do his thing. He works in a factory during the day, and freestyles at The Shelter at night. His friends, Cheddar Bob is a bit mad, there's the preacher, and another one who thinks bling will really improve his life, and then there's Future, the guy who believes in him down at The Shelter, and Wink, the player-hater who's not really sure where he should be.

The film charters their lives, and we see the ups and downs of his freestyling life, and the problems he faces with family, life and love.

This is a great movie, the battles really make this something worthwhile - Eminem showing that he's not just some whack MC like Vanilla Ice is considered, but he has skills and can kick it like any of the other adored rappers on the scene. The best bit has to be where Xzibit freestyles at the lunch truck, and Eminem's reply is just funny. Kim Basinger is amazing as Bunny's mother, and does a good job of the melodramatic mother, and Brittany Murphy is fun and exciting as his girlfriend Alex.

This transfer is a dream come true though, full DTS Master Audio, excellently mixed and sounds perfect when the beats kick in, and the whole soundtrack sounds excellent. The video is sublime, all the grittiness of Detroit on display, and the tones are exhilarating - the battle looks like we're in ancient Rome as Eminem tries to fight his way out of danger and death. The constant 30Mb/sec bitrate looks fantastic, and really does benefit from a BD-50 disc.

My disappointment came with the extras, all in SD and pretty poor compared to the HD feature. The colours look washed out and the dark colours of the battle look grey instead of the correct colours.

its a very good film and it explains the foundation Eminem had to become famous as well as what is like living in 8 mile Detroit in poverty. I would recommend this to anyone who is an Eminem fan.

Brilliant film. My type of music is rock and metal but Eminem makes this movie far worth watching. Great acting, interesting story and highly entertaining.

Usually pop stars in films are not good but this is superb probably the second best ever pop star film after it couldn't happen here with the pet shop boys

I was expecting a bit more of skills, like being a bit more Eminem style, I found the battle progression not good enough. There is nothing at the level of Please Stand Up. I was expecting to see the movie song in battle, it would have been so amazing. There is no fame, just a normal guy, nothing exceptional
