Fantastic series with Laura Linney and company. Totally loved the whole 4 series, even though it's about cancer its funny, warm, sad and enjoyable. Wish it could go on forever! There is so little on tv that I like, that this outstanding programme is the exception, so buy the Dvd to watch over and over, like me! Especially loved the old neighbour Marlene, played by Phyllis Sommerville who was very funny and endearing to watch.

I really liked this series as it is very true to life and very we'll acted throughout. It was funny and very sad but also uplifting at times. All the characters are great, especially her brother and her son.i would definitely recommend this series as it tackles a great subject and deals with it very we'll and also talk about a lot of other interesting stuff such as religion faith life after death etc.... But leave it open for you to make up your mind

We ordered this having rated the first to years as '4' quality, but are bitterly disapointed with year 3.

It looks and sounds like there is a completely new set of 'ideas' people and scriptwriters. Given that Laura Linney is clearly in charge of the show we can only think she gave in to pressure to make it more 'cutting edge'? That basically means that the 'F' word is used and used and used again. The episode with Susan Sarandon is particularly bad. The plots involving the younger characters are straight out of 'Beverley Hills 201?' what ever it was...

We are pleased it's ending, but should have noted the comments of another reviewer before buying.

Loved series 1, enjoyed series 2 ... series 3 I found boring & uneventful until the halfway point when it once again picked up and kept me watching. Is it the last in the series? I think it's time to leave the audience to come up with their own ending and move on! Too much of a good thing stops being good!

Can't rate season 3 yet. I haven't bought it because after Oliver Platt "died", I could not see how the series could be as good as it was before his demise. The reviews are not encouraging. I probably won't buy it unless someone tells me that Platt is brought back somehow in season 3 or 4...?
