I watched this some time ago and thought it was fab! Bear in mind i am 25 and loved it, this animation is aimed at adult humour but kids will find this great too! The concept of the story is just great, they took an old-fashioned story and gave it a 2006 upgrade with a fab "Who Dunnit" storyline.

The characters are all great too i especially loved the mad goat who had different horn attachments for all his needs, he has one for opening bottles for example! and he sings a very catchy little tune which i got stuck in my head for days when i watched it, all i can say is BE PREPARED!

I am not going to give away any of the story i think you should see for yourself what i am raving about.

BUY IT NOW you will not be disappointed!

A light-hearted animated film set in the woods at the bottom of some mountains. People and creatures with varying levels of intelligence (the bear and the little squirrel thing are my favourites) supply the laughs and of course progress the story at a good pace.

I think this film is suitable for the majority of people. I can't understand why it hasn't been distributed more widely.

I watched this movie with my 9 y.o. daughter and we both loved it very much - although obviously for different reasons. My daughter found it good - I think - because of funny looking cartoon characters and some children oriented gags and one liners. I found it irresistible because of more adult oriented dialogs (there is many of them but they are NEVER inappropriate for children to hear) and especially because of a great take on two monuments of cinema which are "Rashomon" and "Usual Suspects" (and also a tiny little bit of Hercules Poirot and James Bond franchises with just a soupon of "film noir").

Most of the movie occurs in a police station where the detective in charge interrogates successively the main suspects in an unprecedented wave of crime happening in the forest. The suspects are Little Red Riding Hood (voice of Anne Hathaway - and a very pleasant voice it is too...), Granny (voice by Glenn Close), Big Bad Wolf (voice of Patrick Warburton) and the Woodsman (voice of Jim Belushi). They will all tell the same story, but obviously it will be showed from their own perspectives (Little Red Riding Hood will be the first), like in "Rashomon". Now, without providing real spoilers, I can promise you, that the more we advance in the stories, the more irresistibly funny this movie becomes - and also the more we discover about the dark secrets in lives of all the four characters...

The purpose of all those interrogations are to try to identify who is the mysterious and sinister Bandit behind the recent wave of crime - he is however very elusive and extremely resourceful, exactly like a certain Keyser Soze... And he is also very skillfully assisted by his evil henchmen, not the least of which is a certain gigantic Austrian bodybuilder...

Strangely, this animation gets better with a subsequent viewing. I was amused, but certainly not helpless on the first viewing, possibly being put-off by the NY-sassy accent of Red herself. However, the music throughout is easily the best of any animation I've seen. "Be prepared" (yodelling goat) is possibly the high point of the film. There's a very good mix of dry humour from Wolf ("What can I say, I was raised by wolves."), parody (GGG Granny) and slapstick (Squirrel on caffeine). Kids will love the action, adults will love the clever script and music. This film will offend no-one.

This is a great alternative to the usual fairy storys. A well known tale with a twist. Older and younger children will enjoy the who done it storyline and adults will enjoy the humour. Animation seems old fashioned now but will not detract from the enjoyment.

Hoodwinked is a very watchable film, but it is nothing exceptional. Everything about it is good, but with some of the recent offerings from Pixar and Disney setting the standard of excellence, this film doesn't quite make it - it's not quite clever enough. However, that being said the re-telling of the Red Riding Hood story from the point of view of each of the girl in question, her granny, the woodsman and the wolf and seeing how the stories seem to be totally incompatible and yet fit together perfectly is very funny, with a few moments that are inspired.
I would recommend this film to anyone with children of Primary School Age, as it will almost certainly fill a rainy afternoon with few complaints.

This was one funny and clever kid's movies I have seen recently. My kids loved it instantly, and asked to watch it again. If there's one thing that annoys me, it's judging a book by its cover, or, in the case of a CGI film, by the CGI budget. There's been a lot of badmouthing the animation on Hoodwinked, even by people who say that the story more than makes up for it. Well, it's true enough that the CGI is low-quality; but that does NOT translate to bad CGI, because high-quality graphics was not what the movie was about.

Borrowing from just about every action film out there, HOODWINKED really works. Everything from THE MATRIX to CITY SLICKERS is referenced ...and it's done very well. The animation seems nearly old-fashioned and out-of-date, which actually adds a quaint quality to the film; it's not trying too hard to be something it isn't. It isn't FINDING NEMO or SHREK. It couldn't be with a budget only a fraction of what those two animation goliaths cost. This is an independent film (gotta love 'em!), so money is stretched thin. Which leads me to my next point ... When the film was put out at theaters (in limited release), it didn't have the marketing budget that Pixar and Disney had for theirs. Professional reviews were cool (to say the least), which leads me to wonder if this movie had been put out by Disney or Pixar what the reviews might have been like. With action figures at Toys-R-Us, computer games, posters, and God only knows what else, the financial ability of the production company might have weighed heavy on the minds of reviewers and how children (and adults) viewed it. Trust me, this IS an issue. Independent films struggle under the shadow of these huge film companies.

And here's the thing: this movie is GOOD.
