The game: an Audio-Visual Benchmark, harnessing the power of The Crystal Tools graphics engine, Final Fantasy XIII pushes the boundaries of high-definition cinematic presentation, sound and gameplay. The familiar Active Time Battle system has evolved, granting players the freedom to execute numerous commands in a single turn in real-time. Now players can enjoy all the strategy and flexibility of a turn-based system, along with the visceral thrill of an action game.
A brand-new game mechanic known as the Paradigm System enables players to assign roles to their party members at any time during battle. By switching between a variety of roles – including Commando and Medic – players can respond instantly to the needs of an ever-changing battlefield, adapting their strategy to ensure victory.
Introducing Gestalt Mode: an exhilarating take on Final Fantasy’s trademark summon system that elevates the action to a whole new level. In Gestalt Mode, the player uses simple button commands to unleash the combined might of the characters and their transformed Eidolons, inflicting massive damage to any who stand in their way.

This review is from: Xbox 360 Super Elite Console (250 GB Hard Drive) with Final Fantasy XIII (Video Game)
Xbox 360 has been around since late 2005 and has a huge catelogue of games. This edition of the console has a huge 250GB hard drive which is ideal for the gamers who download or install lots of games and videos. The bundle includes a Final Fantasy XIII faceplate, Final Fantasy XIII game, two controllers, the console, and all the cables needed except a HDMI cable.
I am extremely pleased with my new Xbox 360 although the only thing that bothers me is the white colour. I would have prefered the console to be black like the original Elite version, as it really stands out under my Black HDTV and next to a black laptop and black Blu Ray player!
If you are new to Xbox 360, this is probably the best deal you can get right now. Final Fantasy XIII is a great game with a typical Final Fantasy storyline. The only issue is FFXIII can get repetitive in the early chapters. A great game overall though.
If you already have an older version of the Xbox 360, wait until the 250GB hard drive arrives in shops. It will probably cost at least £100. The old 120GB hard drive is rumoured to be going down in price too.
A fantastic gaming console for casual and hardcore gamers, with a large selection of games and a quality online network service.

This review is from: Xbox 360 Super Elite Console (250 GB Hard Drive) with Final Fantasy XIII (Video Game)
I'm no games console expert so this is for those of you who don't already know everything about this console. This must be the best buy on an xbox 360 console at the moment. For £10 more than the Elite you get Final Fantasy 13, a second wireless controller (which are a joy to use) & twice the size hard disk. And there is the HD cable & extra game offer here. The chipset appears to be the Jasper version, the latest which is rumoured to be more reliable. I found this console was quite and did not run hot- frequent complaints on previous models. The only annoying 'fault' is the dvd drive. This rattles. Not on dvd playing or cut scenes but always when reading data. The internet is awash with reasons for this and you soon get the idea that not every xbox 360 user is an electronics engineer. The solution is to copy your game to the massive hard disk prior to playing and although you still need the disk inserted to play there is no rattle as data is not read from it. Transfering the game to the hard disk is really easy and takes no more than 5 minutes. The only other thing to note is that if you do not have a high definition tv, or have an old cathode ray tube one as I do, then the menus/text on screen can be a little hard to read. Maybe in the next version they can bundle a HD tv with it ! Oh and by the way, besides the nicely printed box the Final Fantasy decoration on this console just consists of the name etched in silver on the top of the hard disk drive on the top, that's it, nothing to sit for hours admiring. There you are then , hope this helps.
