Firstly I must point out that they are a snug fit. I wear a 12.5 and they are a snug 12 compared to any other shoe I have owned.

I have had these trainers a good year and they are great. I get quite a bit of foot pain due to aggravated nerves and these are the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn. Simply my feet do not get as much abuse as in other footwear. It is like a hug for my feet.

Good grip, dry, cool and protective. Flexible in the right places. Tough in the right places. Padded in the right places. The drawstring strap is simple and long lasting. Expertly designed. I have the green model and they look the part. Obviously there is no ankle support as a boot would have.

I have been climbing on hills and mountains, running around hills and mountains and *cough* going down to the shop in these (In all types of British weather). I have gone through a fair number of different trail trainers and I knew I was going to settle on these after my first trial hike. The sole is starting to ware now and the rest of the trainer remains in good condition. I am not made of money but I won't hesitate in replacing them for the same model.

As footwear is incredibly important when going off trail I wouldn't buy without trying a pair on, but give them a try. I didn't believe that the positive reviews on the internet could be completely true. I was wrong. They are.

I use these in circuit training, 10km road runs, and trails. I bought my first pair several years ago after getting completely sick of getting my trainers wet in the damned unpredictable Irish weather. These were at the upper end of my budget, so I hoped that they'd be good. And man, were they good. They're waterproof, yet my feet never felt uncomfortable. The only 'add on' was a pair of molded insoles, which cost 25 (and are well worth the money). That's not to say that these shoes aren't seriously comfortable - they are! But getting insoles molded to your the unique contours of your foot makes a huge difference.

My left knee makes creaky noises, so I've been advised to replace my trainers frequently. But after a year, the uppers were still perfect. Only the soles had worn down, and the shoes were still waterproof, comfortable and didn't stink! I went through 3 pairs of these, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.

I bought the XT Wings on recommendation from a friend. I'm not as impressed with them as I was with the XAs. They are an excellent trainer, but I prefer the shape of the XA. The XT soles are more suited to road running I think. And for some reason, the XTs seem to be more prone to foot odour than the XAs. Explain that!
