i only played through Island of Hope and having done so am refusing to subject myself to Berlin Nights so bear in mind this review only relates to half the product.

I had to marvel, really; this was such a bare-faced bit of lazy game development. The same handful of locations are used over and over - in many cases you're asked to find the same items in the same locations as you had to find in one of your many previous outings there; the graphics are poor, the items often difficult to find not because they've been well placed with the background but because they're simply not well drawn, and don't get me started on that awful idea of playing you a snippet of sound as your only clue to which of the jumbled mess of items on the screen you're meant to be trying to find.

English translation wasn't great (e.g. 'hand shovel' where it should have been 'trowel') and the mini-games in between levels were stupidly easy - none of the 'puzzles' took more than 20 seconds to solve. As to the story that's meant to be your motivation for finishing these levels - I'm still not sure exactly what was going on as chunks of the story seemed to be missed out, but the way it was played out was cheese, cheese, cheese and not in the least bit entertaining or suspenseful.

Total waste of money and there's *way* better out there than this drek.
