Synopsis

Based on the Hasbro toy line that initially captivated kids back in the 1980s, director Michael Bay's 2007 big-screen adaptation TRANSFORMERS finds two warring factions of shape-shifting alien robots renewing their intergalactic conflict on Earth. While the Decepticons--followers of the malevolent Megatron (voiced by Hugo Weaving)--strive to take over the planet, the Autobots--led by the valiant Optimus Prime (voiced by Peter Cullen)--are intent on protecting humanity. The action kicks off when college student Sam Witwicky (Shia LaBeouf) makes the startling discovery that his prized new car is actually Autobot Bumblebee (voiced by Mark Ryan) in disguise! It soon becomes apparent that a War of the Worlds-style showdown is imminent, with planet Earth as the battleground. A shining example of the Hollywood summer blockbuster at its best, TRANSFORMERS combines stunning CGI effects and thrilling action sequences with drama, humour, and a touch of romance.
The epic battle for supremacy between the Autobots and the Decepticons rages on in the 2009 sequel TRANSFORMERS – REVENGE OF THE FALLEN, and as usual, it's the humans who are caught in the crossfire. The Decepticons continue to spearhead a destructive campaign against the earthlings and their Autobot protectors. But the main villain of the piece is The Fallen (voiced by Tony Todd), a centuries-old Giger-esque baddie who emerges from the scrap heap hungry for power. Having lain dormant for so long, his batteries are in serious need of recharging, and the only energy source in the galaxy powerful enough to restore him to his former titanic glory is the Earth's sun. The Fallen realises that draining the sun of its energy has the added benefit of wiping out the entire human race; something he has been plotting ever since his last attempt at harvesting the sun's energy was foiled. With its eye-popping visual effects and dramatic set pieces, this instalment manages to be an even bigger spectacle than the first, which is saying a lot for a film about giant robots that turn into cars.

absolutely awesome follow up from the previous film - Transformers, lots of fun and action for all the family. These two films have pride of place in the DVD collection to which are watched time and time again a must have film!

Amazing price, quick delivery, Robots in Disguise.

These are fantastic films.
I did see the cartoons when I was young, however I was never much of a fan, preferring to watch She-Ra (she was sexy) and Supergirl The Movie. (her too)

These movies are probably made better by the action, special effects and the Blu Ray quality but they are still good movies, and in a double pack you possibly save half the price instead of getting seperately, like I did!

Also, Megan Fox, yip!

Ok so the title is a little strange for the review but hopefully my quick tale will transform into a review

I recall many years ago my father buying my brother optimus prime as a birthday gift. While he was looking at it he thought it had fallen apart! I laughed and spent the next 30 mintues fighting to make the plastic toy either back into a truck or a robot... I failed... My 10 year old brother came home and in 30 seconds he transformed the twisted plastic back into his hero then into a truck again... I really smile thinking back on that day.

The 2 film box set provides good entertainment value for young and old and the video quality and Computer Generated images in the movies is excellent, which is supported by crisp clear HD multichannel audio.

Of the 2 films i preffered the 1st movie which introduces us to the alien Robots whos transformation ability into vehicles is breathtaking. I wont get into the storyline but will say that the 2nd movie was not as good as the 1st. The tone is very much set in the 1st film but not really carried through into the 2nd movie. For some reason they felt they needed to inject additional humour which in all honesty turns into a very poor 3 Stooges routine at times. Maybe the felt that the "kids" would love this slapstic, which having watched both movies with friends and there kids I have to say they thought as i did it was a bit daft.

Maybe the moral of the story was in my short tale with which I started the review. Never assume were children are concerned that the adults no best. They have more intelligence and skills than we sometimes give them credit for ;)
