Manufacturer's Description
Expand your command over the rough and tumble Grand Theft Auto underworld in Episodes from Liberty --the brand new Grand Theft Auto, containing two complete games – “The Ballad of Gay Tony” & “The Lost and Damned” – together in one box. What's best is that neither require the original Grand Theft Auto to play, so dive into the world of Grand Theft Auto whether you're a veteran mobster or fresh to the series.

Johnny Klebitz of The Lost is no newcomer to the biker gangs of Liberty City. View larger.

Lost and The Damned--Take a Joy Ride with Johnny Klebitz
Unlike Niko Bellic of GTA IV, and most of the other central GTA characters you may be familiar with, Johnny Klebitz is no newcomer to the tumultuous underworld of Liberty City, he's a local that lets you see the streets through fresh eyes. VP of "The Lost" motorcycle club and brother of Billy, the club's hot-headed president, Johnny built up profitable truces with other local gangs while his brother was in rehab, but now that Johnnie's out, chaos is back at the forefront of life for this crew.

If this sounds too tame for you, don't worry -- you'll find yourself leveling brutal attacks on cops and rivals, taking your fill of booze and women, and watching out for drug deals gone wrong in classic GTA style. Find a way to stick together, don't hesitate to kill if you have to, and hold on for the ride as this storyline intersects with the main story from GTA IV, exposing tons of the gut-wrenching twists you've come to expect from series creator Rockstar North.

Experience the Thrill of a Sleek, Graphic Production
Series fans have come to expect more from Grand Theft Auto titles--from more action to better production and truly diverse soundtracks--and they won't be disappointed with this edition. In addition to powerful graphics, cool lighting, and music not found in the rest of GTA IV, this expansion pack boasts new multiplayer modes for exploiting Liberty City with your friends, hot new vehicles, and newly minted weapons.

Episodes from Liberty City

Episodes from Liberty City is the brand new Grand Theft Auto, containing two complete games The Ballad of Gay Tony & The Lost and Damned together in one box.

The Ballad of Gay Tony

The Ballad of Gay Tony injects Liberty City with an overdose of guns, glitz, and grime. As Luis Lopez, part-time hoodlum and full-time assistant to legendary nightclub impresario Tony Prince (aka Gay Tony), players will struggle with the competing loyalties of family and friends, and with the uncertainty about who is real and who is fake in a world in which everyone has a price.

The Lost & Damned

In The Lost and Damned, experience Liberty City as Johnny, a veteran member of The Lost, a notorious biker gang. Johnny has been creating business opportunities for The Lost in Liberty City but his first loyalty must be to the patch he wears on his back and to Billy Grey, the clubs President. However, when Billy returns from rehab hell-bent on bloodshed and debauchery, Johnny finds himself in the middle of a vicious turf war with rival gangs for control of a city torn apart by violence and corruption. Can the brotherhood survive?

5.0 out of 5 stars Wow!, 31 Oct 2009
By Simon Daultrey "g3fan" (Dorset, UK) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
I actually downloaded the Episodes as and when they came out, but it's the same content, and awesome it is! It is also very much an ADULT title, and I can't stress this enough. Especially The Ballad Of Gay Tony....that 18 certificate is truly there for a reason. Besides, younger people would just not understand the story, or the humour!

The Lost and Damned is an excellent new angle on life in Liberty City. It's all about the bikes and the metal. If you're not into thrash metal, don't worry, it can be avoided most of the time, but it's very much a part of the 'feel' of the episode.....one of grit, and grime and general dirty work.

Packed with new bikes, plus some new cars, and an arsenal of heavy weaponry, TLaD is also brilliantly written, with a story that's as fun, entertaining and exciting as the Niko Bellic story of GTAIV. The missions and story carefully intertwine TLaD with that original Niko Bellic story, so if you played GTAIV (and paid attention) then there will be plenty of people and events that you recognise, without any of them actually being direct ports/repeats from the parent game.

The immersive single-player game of TLaD would be enough to make it worth the £ alone, with the addition of new activities like Gang Wars and Bike Races, but the multiplayer is just as good, so there's plenty to keep you going.

As if that wasn't enough (which it is), there's also the 3rd 'episode' - The Ballad Of Gay Tony. To my amazement, it is even better than the first 2 episodes. It is a rich and fast-paced world of money, girls, drugs and high society, with addictive new luxury cars, bikes, boats and armaments. There's also the addition of military-grade helicopters, with the Minigun-toting, rocket-firing "Buzzard" being the most indulgently brutal form of transport since the "Hunter" in GTA San Andreas.

TBoGT is wonderfully written, with a story and voice-acting that puts many movies to shame. Again, there's new activites, like Drug Wars, Club Management, Dancing and Drinking Games, plus some new random characters to meet. It's humourous and intelligent and highly addictive, and there's plenty of stuff to keep you going, which, again, includes great multiplayer content.

Rockstar really know how to do it. Nobody else has ever crafted a title that is as complete as the GTAIV series. The quality of writing and design and production is second to none, so I can't rate it highly enough.

5.0 out of 5 stars Two different games in the same game world, 8 Nov 2009

Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
I'll keep this short and sweet.

The lost and the Damned - Better weapons than GTA iv, a great interwieving storyline, same great gameplay, and voice acting second to no-one!
Gameplay 9/10
Story 9/10
Fun 8/10

The Ballad of Gay Tony - Even better weapons than both GTA IV and Lost and the Damned. (Explosive shelled shotgun anyone? Or remote mines?), a great counter interwieving story (a third story line which meshes inbetween Niko's, and Johnnys stories), and the best gameplay yet! (Fancy a mission where you parachute onto a skyscraper, fight your way down a couple of floors, blow a target of a window, then jump out of the same window; parachuting onto a moving getaway truck!), and awesome characters!
Gameplay 10/10
Story 9/10
Fun 10/10

In conclusion, two great games for half the price of one is a deal you would be insane to miss. Further more YOU DONT NEED THE ORIGINAL GAME TO PLAY THIS!

5.0 out of 5 stars Grand Theft Auto: Episodes From Liberty City - Two Games, One Disc, 29 Oct 2009
By Michael Yelland "Mike" (West Sussex, England) - See all my reviews
Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
If you liked "Grand Theft Auto IV", then you're gonna love this. This disc contains the newly released DLC (Downloadable Content) "The Ballad Of Gay Tony" and the first DLC "The Lost And Damned". I knew about this package since April and I've been desperate to get my hands on it, and I'm so glad I did!
The game does exactly what it says on the box! "Two complete games. The Lost And Damned And The Ballad Of Gay Tony. Two Complete Games On One Disc. Grand Theft Auto IV Not Required To Play". Those are all key features and theyr'e stated clearly on the box, highlighted in gold banners!

Description (From the back of the box):

The Lost And Damned:
In The Lost And Damned, experience Liberty City as Johnny, a veteran member of The Lost, a notorious biker gang. Johnny has been creating business oppurtunities for The Lost in Liberty City, but his first loyalty must be to the patch he wears on his back and to Billy Grey, the club's president. However, when Billy returns from rehab hell-bent on bloodshed and debauchery, Johnny finds himself in the middle of a vicious turf war with rival gangs for control of a city torn apart by violence and corruption. Can the brotherhood survive?

The Ballad Of Gay Tony:
The Ballad Of Gay Tony injects Liberty City with an overdose of guns, glitz, and grime. As Luis Lopez, part-time hoodlum and full-time assistant to legendary nightclub impresario Tony Prince (a.k.a. "Gay Tony"), players will struggle with the competing loyalties of family and friends, and with the uncertainty about who is real and who is fake in a world in which everyone has a price.

The game (or should I say games?):
Basically, the game loads exactly like "GTA IV", you get the same warning menu at the begining and then the two Rockstar Logos, except the only difference is that you get a menu, to pick which game you want to play (first time ever in a GTA game), with the protagonist and the log beneath them. You then get to play that game, and it loads exactly like it does, if you had of downloaded it (I presume). I would tell you about the games themselves, but I don't want to give anything away, seeing as it startles you when you put it in and play it, without a clue of what's going to happen. But I will tell you a couple of things. ON THIS DISC ONLY: You can get, an EXCLUSIVE radio station, entitled "Vice City FM", which plays mostly unfamilliar 80s Pop (with the exception of Marillion). Also you don't have to waste valuable Xbox Hardrive Space to fit the games on (unless you Install the game to hardrive). The game calls itself "GTA IV", so basically all the achievements that you get in this game are added to the achievements you got in GTA IV. (if you haven't downloaded TLAD you'll notice you'll have more achievements to get on GTA IV) And if you're thinking "I don't want to buy the games online, I want them on disc! But I want those achievements..." You're prayers have been answered. This disc adds to those achievements. I am new to both of these games, so I can't tell you much about them. But one BIG difference is that TLAD has a grainy picture, if you look carefully, which doens't upset the game, it's just confusing at times.

Overall:
Anyway, this is a fantastic package, which contains two GTA DLCs on one disc and is only available on Xbox 360, and is the most fun you could have with a video game. You must buy this, if you've played "GTA IV" and you've wanted TLAD for a while, but wanted it on disc. Also this is cheaper than buying both games on Marketplace! Buy this now!
