Great Movie, Faulty Disc - Not Quite!, 16 Sep 2009
I purchased this blu ray, recieved it, popped it in my sony bdp s350 blu ray player and was amazed for the wrong reason. It would only play a small section of the screen, dont ask why???? I did a bit of research and saw alot of people were having this problem, but found the solution, basically you need to insert a usb memory stick in the back of you player for it to work, again dont ask???? But once I did it the movie plays perfectly. Hope this helps.

Completely mental!, 7 May 2009
`Crank: High Voltage' continues straight on from Crank and Jason Statham returns as Chev, surviving the fall he is picked up and his heart has been replaced with an electronic one where he must keep the current strong to keep it beating. Only the box that controls this is destroyed early on so Chev must use any means necessary to give his heart an electricity boost whilst also tracking down the guy who has his real heart.
I quite liked the first film - it was fast-paced, action-packed, funny and very violent. The sequel carries this on and is equally as hard-hitting and fun as before but this time it is perhaps a little bit more brutal with some very graphic violence. I thought this film was good - the story was even more far-fetched and ridiculous than before but it didn't stop it from being a fun to watch and exciting action flick. There were a few scenes however where the story went well off the rails and it didn't make any sense at all, like the un-necessary and completely stupid Godzilla/Power Ranger baddies fight and the talk show section from when Chev is a kid (with Geri Halliwell as his mum!!). Also the ending was rubbish and a real let-down in comparison to the rest of the film, especially as it was nearly identical to the first film's.
Overall this is worth a watch but it'll probably only make sense if you've seen the first Crank film.

Brown Bread, Right Said Fred, Simply Red........, 29 Jun 2009
Do NOT under ANY circumstances listen to the reviewers who gave this film a poor rating, as these guys were clearly watching a different film to the rest of us Statham fans.
In a nutshell, this film is faster, more action packed, funnier, sexier, grosser, and downright more adrenaline pumping than the original Crank, which was undoubtedly one of the best action films in a very, very long time.
Statham is awesome, hard as nails and far crazier than ever before, which is what every fan wants to see from him, Amy Smart is sexy, funny, and wearing far less clothes than ever before, which is again what every Crank fan wanted to see.
Yes, it's insanely far fetched, yes the story is completely over the top, but thats hoiw it's SUPPOSED to be, and thats what makes these films so damn entertaining. Were the original Crank and Transporter films realistic??? Not in the slightest, and thats part of the appeal.
Without even mentioning the brilliant supporting cast this really is an outstanding action film which surpasses the original (which I didn't think was possible), and is something EVERY crank fan with half a brain will absolutely love.
Get it ordered and get it watched, you'll see exactly what I'm talking about!
