I thought I'd try some of these as I wanted to get something faster!

What can I say but they are rubbish, no faster than my Devolo dLAN® 200 AVeasy powerline adapter, I struggle to get 50 Mbps (6.25 MBps) from one room to another even when the adapter claims I have a good connection above 200Mbps!

There is no software, no configuration, no way to see what is going on and quite frankly terrible.

Maybe other people will get better results, even with two plugs in the same room just for testing purposes the best I get is 200 Mbps(25MBps), most of the time my Devolo's are faster than the Belkins!

Not impressed at all.

I've been waiting for this 1Gb powerline kit for months, it finally arrived and it's really disappointing.

First gripe - whoever designed these adaptors doesn't live in the real world - the pins are at the top, the network port at the bottom and the whole thing is about 6 inches high. This means if your power sockets are mounted on the skirting board as in most normal houses it won't fit. This means you need an adapter or power strip to connect it. Why the pins aren't at the bottom is beyond me, it seems like basic common sense.

Next gripe is reliability of connection. Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't. Initially I got a connection, but after powering off and on several times it then refused to make a network connection at all.

Finally my major gripe - these things are supposed to be up to 1 Gb. I accept that this is a theoretical maximum and would have been very happy with 1/4 of this but the absolute best I got out of them, briefly, was 20Mb. Most of the time they connected somewhere between 2 and 6 Mbps.

I bought these to replace my existing Devolo 200Mb powerline connectors - I've had these for about 3 years, they give me a totaly reliable connection between 25 and 32 Mbps, never fail, never refuse connection and don't get hot to the touch within 10 minutes of powering on. I will be sticking with them.

Don't buy this product, it's a waste of money. This beats it out of sight: Devolo dLAN 200 AVeasy (Homeplug AV) Starter Kit, up to 200 Mbp/s, HD video streaming capable - Easy Hi-Security Button

I am quite sick to think I got rid of my 'free' BT / Comtrend adaptors for these units. For 2 years they served me really well, never needed resetting, which was good since one of them is in the loft where my server lives.

In the month since I have installed these, and despite the latest firmware update, they have needed restting on several occaisions, and the link speed is absolutely no better than the comtrends. We live in a modern house with standard wiring, and the server is physically about 15m from the lounge, absolute max.

A VERY poor product!
