Its inspirational design evokes the depths of emotion that have never been seen on a TV screen before. The combination of premuim performance and aesthetic elegance makes for a truly stunning TV that sets new standards.

1080p Full HD
1080p Full HD
1080p Full HD
Discover the Full HD difference. 1080p Full HD refers to images that are displayed at 1920 x 1080 resolution. With 1.5 times the scanning lines of conventional HD TV, Full HD offers more pixels, more details and superior picture clarity.

Samsung Crystal TV
Eco-aware Crystal TV. Because the Samsung Crystal TV's flawless finish is created by dual injection technology, no spray paint is used - eliminating the emission of VOCs (Volatile Organic Compounds). Efficient power consumption means that energy is saved. Plus, with free take-back and 90% recyclability, you can be sure that even at the end of its life, your Samsung Crystal TV is as eco-safe as the day it was made.

Motion Plus
Motion Plus

Motion Plus
Conventional TVs display visuals at a 50Hz frame rate which means it shows 50 still images per second. Samsung Motion Plus™ runs at 100Hz or 200Hz (dependent on model), twice the rate or more of ordinary televisions, so even the fastest action scenes are precise, clear and blur-free.
Motion Plus™ works by intelligently estimating the on-screen action. Then it creates and inserts extra frames between frames. The result is a seamless, blur-free viewing experience that's perfect for sports and other fast-motion including scrolling text.

Ultra Clear Panel®
Samsung's patented Ultra Clear Panel® technology gives you clear, crisp images without glare. A new anti-reflective coating delivers dramatically darker blacks, vibrant depth of colour and reduced reflection.

Internet@TV
Internet@TV
Media@2.0
Samsung Medi@2.0 lets your customers enjoy multimedia content from a range of sources.
Internet@TV uses widgets, small internet applications that deliver relevant web content to your TV.
Widgets make it easy to keep track of news, weather, stock markets, sports results and YouTube videos. Connection can be wired or wireless through a Samsung wireless LAN adaptor.
Photo widgets give viewers access to photo sharing services like Flickr® through their wide-screen television.
Samsung Content Library provides pre-loaded material on a range of subjects including cooking, health, games and education. The library can be customised and updated.
USB 2.0 Movie uses a simple USB interface to let your customer play music and videos and view pictures right on their TV screen.
Supports high speeds of up to 480 Mbps.
Supports FAT 16 / 32 files, the type found on USB drives, flash devices and SD cards.
Rewind, fast forward, play, pause and stop buttons on remote control.
Scroll ability. Ideal for larger content.
DLNA (Digital Living Network Alliance) turns the TV into a digital media player so you can watch video and view pictures saved on your PC. A wired or wireless router pairs up the TV and DLNA certified equipment like laptops, PCs and even Samsung's Omnia mobile phone, so content can be streamed from one to the other. DLNA removes the need to copy media onto a USB storage device and then connect the USB to the TV.

4 HDMI
Connect your digital world. HDMI (High Definition Multimedia Interface) inputs transmit pure, uncompressed streams of digital data at the highest resolution. With 4 HDMI inputs (3 rear, 1 side), your TV is equipped with everything it needs to become your personal multimedia hub, allowing you to quickly connect external devices to the TV for an unrivalled audio visual experience.

    5.0 out of 5 stars Samsung LE40 B650T - Outstanding, 7 Sep 2009
By B. Rennie "ecosse_buyer" (where money's hard earned, not spent on tat!) - See all my reviews
    (REAL NAME)
Like most I did a hell of a lot of research on tv's before buying and thought I had narrowed it down to sony W or panasonic G10. A trip to the local stores to check them in the flesh revealed this set which was clearly the best.

    PRO's
    Black levels are outstanding
Motion blur reduction for football is outstanding
Connectivity again 5 star - I'm typing this on the PC input and its clear as a bell
Looks - on or off this set is the most pleasing you'll find
Upscaling works well - on par with PS3
Wifi dongle - I bought the one earmarked series 7 and above (Rose Red coloured), well it works like a charm and yes youtube streams effortlessly. (An american site showed this dongle working for their version of the 650 so I took a gamble and saved []).
USB - great it even shows thumbnails of the content

    CON's
Well this is like criticising someone who just climbed Everest with your dinner for not bringing the correct fork, but if pushed ... the sound is average. Lets face it only a nut job would spend this amount and not hook it up to a surround kit.
Talking of surround kits there is an issue with ALL LCD tv's in that they do so much wash and wax enhancements to the picture that by the time it shows on screen there is time lag. E.g. watch a movie from your PS3 with the optical coax going direct to the surround kit and the picture will be very slightly behind the sound. This is an easy fix by hooking the optical coax from the tv to your surround kit, hey presto no lag for any input. The downside is no 5.1 surround pass through only stereo, ah well it still rocks on my 5yr old pioneer kit.

Everyone goes on about calibrating the set, well I tried it and it looked so dull and lifeless. The defaults are a little eye popping but there are such a myriad of settings to tune you'll be able to get it just right for your eyes.

    In summary
I'm completely chuffed with my purchase and yes LED's are better but only slightly better (2.5 times the price so we're back into nut job territory again). This set in no way lacks anything and Samsung have surprised me by just how good they know they're stuff and customers. Firmware updates (Aug 09) keep the functions cutting edge (same firmware update as LED's). By all means check out the competition after all I did, but don't let big name branding blind you to this set, it is the sweet spot of top spec for the money.

    PS - 3 TOP TIPS
1)When checking picture quality in the shops go round the back and check they're all hdmi connected. Unbelievably some are only showing a picture from 1970's RF coax - very naughty to make you buy the more expensive sets. I just swapped the plugs to see the real deal.
2)Buy the rose red dongle - save a few quid.
3)There's a glass LCD stand on this site for [] and it really matches this set to a tee the whole ensemble looks ... outstanding.

    Enjoy!
    UPDATE NOV 09

Windows 7 lets you stream HD movies direct to your Samsung from your laptop and it works just perfectly with this rose red dongle. You can simply right click on a movie file on your laptop and choose [play to] and the tv auto plays or use the tv menu for dnla laptop and choose the movie from there. Movies HD & SD, pictures and mp3 music all work - yeeha!

4.0 out of 5 stars VERY GOOD TV ignore the INTERNET FEATURES, 26 May 2009
By M. Akunjee (uk) - See all my reviews
    (REAL NAME)
I bought this TV recently after doing much research on it. i am very pleased with the quality of the TV itself and the upscaling and reduction of motion blur (not 100% though).
i must add though be aware of some drawbacks before purchasing. u will need a extra (50quid) dongle if your main tv is not near your router for wireless access and after purchasing that i was not impressed by the internet TV features that at the moment is a gimmick as WAY too slow to be practicle and in its infancy. Also the content library although good idea is again TOO slow and at the moment is not upgradable. (strangely the extra stuff on the website for content are for series 7,8,9 only and cant be used for this TV at the meoment so what u get out of the box is it)

The media 2 features for me is the clincher!!! i can connect my HD via usb and have full QUICK (as usb2) access to all your media, pics etc. the SD upscaler is fab. also via dlna u can stream media from your tv however it doesnt work on all file types so check before relying on this feature.

all in all a good tv! just ignore the internet yahoo widgets for now (and dream about the youtube one as its not ready yet!)

2.0 out of 5 stars Good picture, frustrating sound problem, 8 July 2009
By Mr. J. A. Smithson "Birminghamjim" (Birmingham) - See all my reviews
    (REAL NAME)
I've just purchased this screen and the picture is great, the set up was incredible easy and the product itself is lovely to behold and feels very well screwed together but the sound quality is rubbish. Normally I wouldn't mind about tinny TV speakers as I just feed everything through an old Technics AV receiver and some floor standing speakers to beef up the TV speakers; so I connected audio out from the back of my V+ box to the amp, turned up the speakers and there was a massive echo between the speakers in the telly and those from the amp. I turned the telly right down and the lip sync was so bad programmes were unwatchable. I understand HD pictures take a bit of processing that can cause a delay, and luckily the Samsung has audio out on the back of the telly so I fed these through the amp to solve the problem, and the delay was still present! After doing a bit of reading up I've since found out that while the Samsung delays the sound to the internal speakers to compensate for the image processing time, it unbelievably doesn't apply the same delay to the audio out - thus making external speakers impossible to use unless you have an AV receiver with an audio delay/lip sync function, mine doesn't so I'm looking at shelling out at least another £200 for an amp with a feature that compensates for the rubbish audio features on the telly (that's unless I'm allowed to replace my now unboxed telly for an with a Sony KDL40W5500, though I guess this is unlikely).

If you've already got an amp with audio delay then I suppose this telly'll fine for you, but for people in my position the failure of Samsung to manage to sync the audio out with the image is pretty much unforgivable, and will annoyingly prove to be quite costly.
