The Lindam clarity digital video monitor combines advanced technology with design innovation to bring you a product that will provide you with peace of mind. Using the latest digital technology (DECT), the monitor produces crystal clear, interference-free sound and vision transmission, which allows you to rest assured that you can see and hear your baby at all times.





The fully portable parent unit, which can be operated up to 150 metres from the nursery, means that you can monitor baby wherever you may be in the house. The camera’s infra red night vision ensures that it will operate even in low light conditions. It incorporates a nightlight and five lullaby melodies to sooth baby back to sleep. The 2.36 inch colour monitor has simple controls for sound and vision adjustment and the visual display indicates sound level, volume and microphone sensitivity settings.

The monitor can be either run from the mains or battery operated, with an indicator to let you know when the battery is low and VOX mode for extended battery life. Additionally, the multi-functional stand can be either placed on a surface or wall-mounted, providing you with the flexibility you need to situate the baby unit anywhere in the nursery.

i recently returned a sumner video monitor as the sound stopped working on the new unit. I purchased this monitor based on its look, a few positive reviews i found and the price [$] There is a major design fault with the system whereby you only get any sound at all when the baby is crying and even then it only stays on for about 5 seconds. I spoke with Lindam today and they confirmed from their product design team that this has been noted and they are producing a new model which will be out in July 09. They offered me an exchange when the new model was available but what am i going to do for the next month or so until then! This model has great picture quality and the camera has nice uses such as a lullaby function which you can trigger from the handset (although there is no volume control on it and it is VERY loud for a sleepy baby) and has night lights which are also a nice touch. It has a circular 'wheel' on the front which is just for show and does nothing!! I am sure the new model will make up for these short comings and if so then this will no doubt be an excellent video monitor..but for now, take my advice and stay well clear (unless you purely want it for video use only). I now have a safety first video monitor which although the picture isnt as good, it does allow you to remotely move the camera around and you can zoom in on your baby which is addictive!

returned this monitor due to the annoying continuous buzzing coming from the monitor even when to volume was switched right down - dissappointed with Lindam monitors in general - previous Lindam monitor blew up upon initial use and replacement lasted 11 months before developing a fault - Lindam quibbling over waranty and previous retailer (baby security) won't help at all - at least this time i went through amazon and have had no problems returning the monitor

While the picture clarity is very good and interference is kept at a minimum, this monitor is missing 2 basic things:
1) It does not get "activated" easy enough. Long story short, it requires a good amount of sound before the receiver actually transmits it. So if your newborn is crying its heart out, you will hear it just fine. But if it is only making light sounds (as newborns do) you will be kept in the dark. This - for me - was the most important defect.
2) While the advertised range may be 100+ meters (I wouldn't know) the "effective" range is much, much shorter. When I have the receiver two rooms over from the transmitter, it loses signal.

Unfortunately I don't have the luxury of returning this product as I bought it in the UK and I live in Cyprus. However, I will be purchasing another Summer Infant unit. I have had one for 2 years for my other daughter and it has been working flawlessly. I am still kicking myself for deciding to try something new....
